Travelled down to beer a few weekends back with my wife and stumbled upon the Anchor, We both had a steak which we had no complaints about, after dining we went in to the main bar and there was one very rude man (must nof been late 20 s) (very tall) with a red football teams shirt, who for the... Very pleased with the overall experience at the Anchor Inn.We had three different waitresses during the evening all of whom were polite and efficient.Food was presented well and of good quality I felt the pricing of the Angus steak was a little on the high side when taking into consideration you had to pay extra for veg etc. A busy... Visited Beer with my wife as she wanted a Trip down memory lane having lived there about 60 years ago .Arrived around lunch time and decided on the Anchor. Clean and pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and terrific menu at sensible prices Would certainly visit again if we go back to Beer

This place is set in a beautiful backdrop scene called Beer. The Anchor is full of character and today I visited and tried the seaside platter! It's a must, cockles, calamari, whitebait, prawns, chipped potatoes and dips! If your passing by pop In and see the fresh prevails and great ales.

Really enjoyed what I would say was an excellent traditional pub meal in the Anchor Inn. It was a busy Friday night and the resataurant was fully booked for dinner, however we joined many other diners in the bar area for a meal. Menu choice was good : we chose steak and chips with the traditional trimmings and lamb shank... More

Spent a couple of nights here and really enjoyed it. The hotel is in a fantastic position overlooking the sea. The staff were welcoming and the food was very good. There is a lovely beer garden to sit in, if and when summer arrives! Would definitely return to this hotel.

Had a lovely meal in the bar. Welcoming staff, open fires and fresh fish. Very much enjoyed. The location was also excellent - right on the sea front. There is a garden which is going to be a nice location to enjoy and drink in the summer.

Absolutely LOVE this place! The location is amazing on the top of the approach to the beach. There are always interesting things to see and people to talk to. The hotel is so friendly and cosy (three real fires going when we were there over the weekend) and the food is superb with many wonderful fish dishes on the menu.... More

Had been waiting for some time for a special deal for B & B - and the wait was worthwhile. A good room (N° 7) at the end of the top floor..no noise from people going past late at night (outside or inside!) nor any noise from the downstairs bar and restaurant. Staff on reception, in the restaurant and the... More

Called in today for lunch. Greeted by arrogant girl on food counter. Not a smile or friendly greeting. In fact, little eye contact. You have to order tea and coffee at the food counter, and other drinks at the bar, which means if you pay to pay at 2 places. Wanted to have a Ploughmans with cheddar cheese and ham.... More
