Stayed here during the cycling Tour of Northland and found it perfect - virtually on the finish line for stage two, and had all the amenities we were looking for.

This was our farthest north stop in New Zealand, and the location of this motel is lovely (in spite of the rain). The great sand dunes are just across the water. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. It was clean and tidy. Decor was in-offensive. Beds weren't uncomfortable. A set of sliding doors opened out to a little deck. The rooms are very clean. That is about the only redeeming feature of this motel. I don't know if it's the remoteness or not, but the place just doesn't appeal. We arrived to be told that there was only a two bedroom unit available.....but we could have it for the single room price if we slept together in one room.... More
