We live in Kent and our daughter is studying at Bishop Burton college, so we often come up for weekends and try different places to stay and different restaurants. This weekend we stayed at Rudstone Walk nearby and decided to give this restaurant a try. At the bar there were two or three different ales on the handpumps and I... More

We stayed at this establishment for 1 night. There were 8 of us occupying 3 rooms. We chose it as it was near to a venue that was being used for a family wedding. We booked by phone and when we rang back a few days because we hadn’t received a confirmation, there was no record of the booking. Apparently... More

Room was awful on one wall a quarter of the wall paper was missing. There was a constant noise in the room which after 20 minutes was like Chinese water torture also there was a grand prix track outside our window (main road) which you need about ten pints to help put you to sleep. We went with another couple... More

We entered through the main entrance into a welcoming pub. We were taken to our room outside at the back. We were pleased about being at the back as the road in front seemed quite busy. The room was quite small but held our 2 bags . There was every thing you would expect in a pub B and b... More

Just for a change we decided to visit a country pub rather than a restaurant for my birthday treat. The welcome at the Fox and Coney was warm and the food excellent quality although the menu was restricted to traditional pub-grub. The service was very good and the prices very reasonable. For the "real ale" officianados, there was a good... More

There was room at the inn just after Christmas, which there wasn't at the local family home. The Fox and Coney was well worth the drive up from Kent; the food and the service and the comfort (and the wi-fi) were all extraordinarily good. More people should know about the Fox and Coney.

Visited on cold wet January evening, received a warm welcome from friendly staff and a nice open fire. Had a really nice meal, which was well presented and tasty. Menu limited but all tastes catered for, which showed it was good home cooked food. dogs welcome :)

After being worried by some of the reviews, I still decided to book an overnight stay at the Fox and Coney, and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are very welcoming and helpful and sorted out a table I wanted to book for the evening without trouble. The food both during the evening and in the morning was excellent. The... More

After reading the reviews we were a bit worried but the breakfast and evening meal were very good. The room was adjacent to the pub with own front door like having your own little house! The only -ve was the traffic noise as therer is a very busy road leading to the motorway.
