This was one night away, not too far from home to enjoy good food and a relaxing overnight stay. This is a place we will recommend to everyone who will listen and we will be back....soon. A warm welcome on arrival in more than one way with the wood burner crackling away in the small, cosy lounge area. Our room... More

The most amazing getaway. We have been there twice now with family and we have never been disappointed. This time we stayed the night. We arrived with the dog in tow and were checked in to lovely little Scottish rooms. After a quick drink and packet of crisps in the bar we took George (the dog) up Dollar glen to... More

Mum and I often end up at the Tormaukin if we are out for a run in the car, and no matter whether we have lunch,a drink or just soup and a sandwich everything is always wonderful! We had butternut squash soup today and it was beautifully hot and tasty. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient, prices are very... More

We stayed here in Oct 2011, and had booked another stay for Feb 2012. Again we were very impressed by the quality of the food, and friendliness of the staff. The room was very comfortable and warm. The surrounding area offers a lot of scope for walking with lovely scenery, the dogs were in their element. More

We have stayed in the Tormaukin many times over the last 25 years. It has gone through some rocky patches, but without doubt the owners/ management for the last 18 months have got it just right. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, lovely log fires and pleasant atmosphere. We had dinner on both evenings and judged our food to be first rate,... More

The food, atmosphere, staff and service are wonderful, we often come here for dinner and are never disappointed! It is a very relaxing and enjoyable place to eat dinner, then into the bar for Irish coffee! Would recommend this lovely Inn totally! More

Stumbled upon this hotel on laterooms website and booked at the last minute. Arrived and was greeted warmly by a very nice young girl who promptly booked us in and took us to our room. Our room was very comfortable. The bar and lounge were very nice and the staff were great. We ate in the restaurant and the decor... More

We chose The Tormaukin Hotel for a night away as we'd recently opped in for lunch and had a fabulous Parsnip Soup and were impressed with the friendliness and warm atmosphere. The hotel has undergone total refurbishment and our allocated room was superb with a really comfy bed and all the amenities required to make our stay one to remember.... More

Lunch - friendly and attentive service, nice atmosphere with real fire on a freezing day. Food was a mixture, as a fish & risotto lover I opted for sea bass fillets on a Cullen skink risotto. Although the skin wasn't crisp the fish was otherwise cooked well, the problem was the risotto. The flavour was ok but the rice was... More

Beautiful setting and atmosphere. The food was of the highest quality with several unusual options e.g. wild boar and apple sausages. 2 of us had a main course and dessert plus coffees and a drink beforehand and there was change from £40. You will go a long way to find better value. More
