Had a very pleasant stay in this warm and welcoming hotel. We had a very nice room and enjoyed the breakfast and the fire and atmosphere in the bar. Kirkmichael is a lovely little village with a great village shop/cafe and good walks along the Cateran trail. More

The Kirkmichael is a wonderful example of a traditional village inn. Full of character and history, in a picturesque village in the midst of beautiful countryside (especially when the autumn colours are out), its a refreshing change from plastic formula hotels. The atmosphere was homely, the food tasty, the bedroom clean and comfortable, and the service friendly without being intrusive.... More

This is a small, welcoming and homely hotel. Danny and Christina are putting 110% effort to get this establishment back on its feet since they took it over in March this year. We were fortunate to choose a weekend where there was a special gourmet 'game' meal, and what a treat! Our room was clean and comfortable and recently decorated.... More

We walked the Cateran Trail while staying at the hotel. Chris and Danny could not have been more flexible and helpful in dropping us off / picking us up. Our room was large clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Food was good especially the "venison special". More

The hotel and bar is very clean and fresh. The very first time we walked through the door, Danny and christine the owers could not have done any more for us. They made us feel very welcome including the regulars. The hotel is well placed in the village and is a good refuel stop if you are walking the cateran... More

Welcoming, personable, genuine people! They went out of their way to make sure that our experience of this hotel was a very positive one. Fantastic food, excellent beer and a fine selection of single malts! Open fire and great humour. We will definitely be going back year after year. Excellent location for golfers! More

Having used this place for a short golfing trip, it is well worth a visit. Chris and Danny were very welcoming. The restaurant offers a small but very adequate selection of food, and a good range of wines. We are certain to return, it was great to mix with the local people and hear what was going on in the... We stayed for two nights over the Bank Holiday weekend as party of seven. The new owners Danny & Christine went out of their way to make our stay memorable - organising a birthday meal for my mother on the Saturday evening. Nice touches - complimentary tea & coffee on arrival & making packed lunches for us ahead of a... More
