If you are looking for tranquil countryside and a genuine welcome then this is your place. Booking via the owner's website was easy and efficient. We found the property with relative ease though it is a rather hidden gem and therein lies it's charm. This rural retreat offers two self-contained rooms with a rustic feel yet all the modern conveniences, including tea making facilities! [ a must if you are British of course! :-) ] The hostess, Andrea, offers a friendly but unobtrusive welcome and a traditional French breakfast in the family breakfast lounge. There is plenty to do and see in the area including riverside walks, ancient towns and local market days. Chinon and Saumer offer good dining experiences. Do take the time to stay here and see for yourself. Bonne vacances. more

We have just returned from a motorcycle touring trip in france. Throughout our journey we stayed in 8 different hotels/bed and breakfasts and Les Doinets was certainly one of our favourites. It is situated within rural France and ideal for exploring the Loire Valley.
We stayed for 1 night and paid 95 euros for bed and breakfast and a four course evening meal including wine and coffee.
The rooms are not in the main house and are very private and beautifully furnished/decorated to a very high standard. The tea and coffee making facilitys were very welcome as not many french b&b's/hotels offer this facility. The meals were served in the main house by Andrea and her charming daughter . The food was nice and represented good value with the wine included.
(The cost of the Ibis/ Campaniles may look attractive but once you have purchased your meals and drinks it is more expensive. )
If you want to stay in rural France without the language barrier and experience good...
