This is a super spot. Very chilled out with a great pool. We stayed in the Magnolia suite. We will definitely stay again. The only downside if the local town (St. Claud) which lacks a nice bar/cafe. There are other towns in the region which make up for it - not least Confolens. I will be back for the home... More

Like most who visit la betoulle, we returned this summer after a very enjoyable previous trip a couple of years ago. We stayed in the larger gite, which has a wonderful master bedroom (including a huge and extremely comfortable bed - something that is rarer than it should be) lovely generous living space, and a small second bedroom ideal for... A couple of weeks ago we completed our sixth visit to La Betoulle - that should really confirm all you need to know. When staying there we have done B & B; we have also stayed in both gites - twice each - and it is as certain as it can be that we will go there again next year... More

On first sight we expected to see Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot descending the stairs; it's that sort of manor house. We had the Lotus room for 2-nights and found it charming and relaxing after a 3-month tour of Europe. The owners are delightful and will provide all the help a traveller may require. Breakfast is varied daily and both... More

We stopped over for one night at this fantastic manor house and wished we had been booked in for two weeks. Bedroom beautifully decorated in classic french style which had a open terrace looking out over the swimming pool. Very peaceful location with lots to see in the area. If you didnt want to eat out, there was a dedicated... More

The last reviews have said it all, but to emphasise: What other B&B gives such an interesting and varied breakfast What other B&B prebooks restaurants and gives detailed typed instructions on how to get there What other B&B would have produced a metal detector to see if my husband had dropped an important object in their drive What other B&B... It felt as if we were arriving for a stay in a lovely country manor house as we drove in to La Betoulle with its mature trees and the fabulous smell of lavender. The interior continued the impression with its marble floor, sweeping staircase and comfortably furnished hall, filled with antiques and objets d'arte. Everywhere you look there is something... More

We drove for over 12 hours to get here from the UK and it was worth every mile. We run a b and b in the UK and hadn't had much time off for quite a while and when we found La Betoulle we thought it sounded like home from home, and we were right. Lots of space, quiet, top... More

A perfect place to chill out after a hectic visit to Europe. Peaceful, plenty of space, huge beautifully decorated rooms. We felt free to 'do own thing' without intrusion from our hosts (who were always helpful if we needed them). The breakfasts were excellent - always a bit different - with lots of home-made jams, honey, cake etc. We stayed... More

The Manoir La Betoulle is wonderful. The rooms were beautifully furnished and comfortable and the hospitality was amazing. We were so well looked after and nothing was too much trouble for Penny. Breakfasts were delicious and Penny provides a lot of home baked food and home made jams. The terrace was wonderful and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Small... More
