We stayed here for one night over the Xmas period. Food is good but during our stay we made a complaint about an issue that had arisen. The night staff were not interested and made no effort to help us with our problem. This was a shame as the hotel has lots of character and most staff were friendly. More

This hotel needs time to grow on you, and I can only review it fairly by dividing features into good and bad. Very Good - Genuine, warm and friendly service (ie not staff just looking for tips). Wonderful three night stay, which was a perfect destination after taking the observation train up from Kandy. Staff couldn't do enough, and from breakfast through to post dinner drinks in the bar (with a real life tea estate manager!), service was impeccable. Highly recommended! More

We spent two nights at the Bandarawela hotel on mid-October 2011. We arrived to Bandarawela after spending four nights in two small family owned guesthouses (at Kendy and Ella) which were excellent. Step back in time at the Bandarawela hotel. The hotel has its own 'greeter' dressed in traditional costume who loves having his photo taken.
