Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Pear Tree B & B whilst walking Hadrian’s Wall. Doug and Jan are lovely hosts and our room was very comfortable. The B&B is conveniently located for walking into Corbridge, where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants. We couldn’t have wished for friendlier hosts, nothing was too much trouble and this was without doubt the best B&B we stayed in on our trip.

Lovely small b and b. The hosts were really welcoming and breakfast was delicious. Our packed lunches for our walk the following day were lovely. Would love to stay again and explore the little town further.

Jan and Doug are wonderful hosts and make it easy and pleasure for walkers travelling Hadrians Wall. Providing a hearty breakfast with Doug’s daily specials like Omelette with Mushrooms and Feta gets you off to great start then an equally complete and delicious lunch to take is provided. The room was comfortable and most of all their hospitality so welcoming including Jans willingness to do laundry with overnight turnaround amazing. Would recommend as great spot to stay and explore Corbridge or for walkers needing stop on walk. Suggests for dinner offered up and things to explore locally. Highly recommend visiting the local Fort great example of village life in Roman times and walking distance from B&B.

Just had 3 nights in this superb bed and breakfast. Jan and Doug were very welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Super comfy beds, very quiet room spotlessly clean. Powerful shower and white fluffy towels. Breakfast was excellent lots of choice and quality products. All the jams and marmalade were made by Jan. 5 minute walk into Historic Corbridge where there are lots of eating places to choose from and some lovely individual shops.

Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly hosts, super breakfasts, highly recommended! The house numbering is not so obvious, Peartree is located on the outside of the bend on Roman Way, and has pedestrian access from Stagshaw Road. Google maps finds it okay though.

A delightful and helpful hostess, offering a quality and personal service in this charming village. The room was warm, quiet and comfortable, a short stroll from the village centre. As a vegetarian I was more than happy with the variety of food I was offered at breakfast. This is an ideal place to stay and I shall certainly return .

Great location, short stroll to lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and pubs. Immaculately clean rooms, delicious breakfast (homemade jam was lovely) and very friendly hosts. The bed was comfortable, decor was tasteful and there are lots of nice touches like fresh milk and biscuits in the room. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very friendly owners, delicious and generous breakfast, fantastic power shower and the best packed lunch for our Hadrian’s Walk of the day. Recommend. (But do get a taxi - it’s a little bit off the Hadrian’s Wall path. Don’t let that put you off!)
