Good local ambience, excellent beer and top notch food- the Aberdeen Angus steak was cooked to perfection with a sizeable portion, beautifully presented. Great coffee to finish. Went back the following afternoon for a tea and went back a few more times during a two week stay in the area. Good friendly service- nothing too much trouble and therefore highly... more

This was our first visit to Skye and The Old Inn. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff, and the atmosphere in the bar was great, specially when there was live music. Food very much better than many other pub restaurants we've tried - fresh local produce, well cooked and presented. We look forward to our... more

We have visited 'The Old Inn' twice now on separate holidays and it has really impressed us. Situated in the middle of the village of Carbost near to the Taliskar distillery, it offers good coffee (Illy), tasty pub food that hasn't been near a microwave, and friendly service. Our children have been equally welcomed on both occasions and so we... more

We stayed at the Inn for two nights in May and had a great time. The rooms and bathrooms are fairly simple and a little dated but very comfortable and have everything you need, and the price is very reasonable given the standard of the room and the convenience of having good food "on-site" rather than a drive away. The... more

We sat out on the patio and tried to order soup. It took a while to get the waiter's attention. We waited, and waited, ..... and waited, but no soup. We couldn't get the waiter's attention because he was busy chatting up some young, pretty customers. Complaining to the manager didn't help. Finally, after about 50 minutes, we just got... more

We always look to spend our evenings at the Old Inn, Carbost, whenever we visit Skye. The staff are friendly & helpful. The food is competetively priced the atmospere always good, especially when the entertainment is on. We found is a lot less formal than the Sligahan inn.. Great views of the Loch can be found from the beer garden.... more

This inn is set in a stunning location on Skye near the Cuillin Mountains. The staff are great and very friendly - the manager needs to get his/her act together because this place could be so much better. On arrival our friends were given Room 6 which is a small lodge at the back of the inn. It looks like... more

Lovely small inn on the side of a beautiful loch in a small village. The inn itself is charming and has decent bar food and ales. The room was simple but clean and had a small shower room off. A nice simple place to stay and excellent value for money. more

Just returned from a visit to Scotland which included 2 nights in Skye, more particularly the "Old Inn" in Carbost which is walking distance to the Talisker Distillery. My first sight of the Cullin Mtns was at 11pm and there was still plenty of daylight. The twilight greying sky and the varied shades of the mountains gave an eerie yet... more
