Couldn't fault the very friendly staff, but our room was definitely overpriced. The room was clean, if a little basic, and the mattress was appalling with backache-inducing broken springs. Breakfast was also disappointing - it's delivered to your room the night before and consists of croissants in a Tupperware container, cereal and fresh milk, which is put in a mini... More

On a recent stay in the village of Upwey we thoroughly enjoyed a meal at The Riverhouse Inn. Both Myself and my boyfriend had the Serloin Steak with the sauce from the specials menu. It came with a love sharing side dish of really lovely vegetables and potatoes. The only complaint was that the steak was slightly more cooked than... More

Just made the 2 o'clock deadline for what turned out to be a disappointing venue. The restaurant decor would have been well placed in the 80's. If the chef is award winning it must have been for having a laugh. The sirloin steak I ordered was tough and over cooked to the point of being slightly burned. I didn't complain... More

I was given an overnight stay from Freshfields as a pressie and chose this Inn in an area we have not visited before. we extended our stay to 3 nights. the rooms were of a decent size, very clean and warm, a major consideration at this time of year. Lorraine and Bob are excellent hosts, taking the time to recommend... More

We stayed here for one night using a gift voucher we were given as a christmas gift. We were late and missed the 2 pm book in time which was a shame as we then could not book in until 6pm and it was very cold and wet so we had to go back off to Weymouth and find another... More

I used to live in Weymouth and now live overseas and it's not until you are gone that you realise how much you miss lovely fresh home cooked food in a cosy village setting. The restaurant has a great range of specials and the desserts are to die for - the homemade ice creams are a must!! Relatives of mine... More

After a long drive we were looking for a dog friendly pub with good food. First impressions was that everything in the garden (which is where we had to sit because of the dogs) needed a lick of paint and the plastic unstable chairs needed replacing. The interior of the pub is actually very nice and country style. When it... More

This was a birthday weekend away and it was a warm, charming and very enjoyable experience for my husband and me. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food menu was both interesting and varied; we had the chicken liver pate with garlic bread which was a particularly generous and tasty. The room was extremely clean, well appointed and... More

What a lovely place to eat! We have visited serveral times but I feel I should let everyone know how good the food is at The Riverhouse! My personal favourites are the dolmades and the chicken liver pate. My husband favours the delicious fish and chips, Riverhouse chicken and home made burgers( when included on the specials board). For dessert... More

What an absolute gem we found here. After an exhilarating day watching team GB in the windsurfing we discovered the Riverhouse inn by accident .But only after having to drive around Weymouth hopelessly trying to find some Accommodation with car parking. (This seems be a real problem for the b&b`s in Weymouth & a great advantage of staying here). First... More
