Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked a 5 night stay for Feb 2019 and paid 50% deposit of €162.50 in October 2018. In Jan 2019 got e-mail from hotel stating that it would be closed for renovation and that they could transfer our reservation to another hotel. I responded same day that we did not want the transfer to another hotel and wanted the deposit back. Despite numerous e-mails to the hotel, I have not had any money refunded. I have also tried telephoning, but get no reply. This is completely unacceptable behaviour as I have acted in good faith and just want my deposit back.

We stayed 1 night at THP Hotel on our way back home from a 1 week long Italian holiday. I'm really glad that it was only 1 night, because it was the maximum, I could have taken in this awful place. The hotel looks very dated, the furnishing of our room and bathroom was ridiculously old fashioned. The quality and variety of the breakfast was poor. I could have lived with all these for only 1 night, but the worst part was the noise, that was really horrible. I hardly got any sleep, because apparently there is a railway track right behind the hotel, and we heard the cargo trains all night. And if the trains wouldn't have been noisy enough, there was also an unlocated, very sharp and loud beeping sound that went on for ages in the middle of the night. I had the worst night sleep ever. Although I give a plus point for cleanliness, my overall experience was so bad here, that I'm positive that will avoid this hotel in the future.

The hotel reception is very friendly and looks good on arrival. On going to our room, I noticed that the hallways are old and in desperate need of repair. Our room was adequate with new flooring and a comfortable bed. The bathroom had everything we needed and was comfortable. The view was out of this world and the windows open up nicely so the view can be experienced at it fullest. Even though these rooms face the main road, the traffic noise is not a problem. There was ample parking for our car. The heating was adequate and plenty of pug points and well positioned lights and switches. The bus stop to Bologna city center is a 1 minute walk from the hotel We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open though. All in all, a great stay and nice comfortable hotel. It is a bit far from Bologna city center, but the bus trip is cheap and regular. Make sure you don't miss the last bus back though.

Most of the room was broken and dirty. Stains on the mattress and pillow. One light bulb broken. Radiator that stayed on full even when unplugged. Breakfast was disgusting and dinner was worse. We found a dead mouse in the dining room. But apart from that very nice!

The hotel advertised a restaurant (even in the lifts!) but when I asked at reception there was no restaurant on site and the closest advised was 4km back into Bologna... We found it very hard to find as the sign says "Park Hotel" and not THP Hotel as written on our booking, it turns out it was called "Top Hotel Park Bologna" but this wasn't referenced anywhere on our reservation! Breakfast you could pay for croissants but we didn't bother. The swimming pool which claimed to be "seasonal" looked like it hadn't been uncovered for a very long time! The air con didn't work, the carpets were worn, there was air in the water meaning the taps sounded like a coughing cat! :) The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, however on the 2nd night of our stay there was a wedding party at the hotel (which to be fair didn't play loud music after 11pm) meaning the bar staff weren't interested in serving regular hotel guests so we ended up drinking our own (luckily we'd stocked up at the supermarket earlier!). Wifi in the lobby but not in the rooms. On the plus side, the views of the hills and landscape are stunning...

Only the lady's at the desk looked great! The rest... seriously outdated. Ceiling with stains on em. pool was closed with 30 c outside. Lamps that did not work. And the flatscreen was a big as my laptop.

We traveled with two children to this hotel in Sept 2014. We would recommend avoiding this hotel. Although our initial impression of the foyer/reception was encouraging, that quickly changed to disappointment and despair when we saw our rooms. The rooms were dirty, damp, curtains torn and stained, wallpaper falling off in places and torn in other places. The shower rooms were musty and in poor repair with open drains in the floor and holes for vents in ceiling exposed. The pool outside was uncovered and looked like a swamp - green and dank with a selection of floating debris and insects. The staff varied from rude and uninterested to pleasant but complacent. Very unsatisfactory overall. We could not wait to leave! Location is good and surrounding countryside beautiful so it is a shame this hotel has not received some financial input for refurbishment.

Hotel was a bit difficult to find especially at 3am! Hotel looked a bit dated, but was comfortable enough! Apparently under new management so give them time to sort things out! Fortunately had Air Conditioning so made stay a bit more bearable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful! Didn't get up tip late morning and managed to get some decent Coffee of them. Noticed a pool on site but no time to use it!
