Located at the highest point in a tiny walled hill town a half hour's drive from Rimini, this medieval castello offered us a wonderful room with linen sheets, fluffy pillows, modern private bath, and a commanding view of the valley and neighboring hill town--all for just 90 Euro. Dinner at the Ristoro di Palazzo Viviani, in an old wine cellar... more

What a wonderful hotel. I went there for a one night during my week at Rimini, and was completely satisfied. Room was great, the girl at reception was very friendly and the breakfast was superb. Weekends were little bit cheaper and definitely worth it. I wish I had been there longer. My own mistake was to wait evening bus at... more

We had our wedding there in June and although we had our problems with 3 different hotel managers over the year of organising, everything came together in the end. I really hope they have finally sorted out their staffing problems. My best advise if you plan to have a wedding there is to be relaxed and if you are not... more

Not your usual review as we had our wedding at Montegridolfo in 2009. However, this means we've stayed there twice, once in one of the newer rooms outside the castello walls when we looked around and once in the very old main hotel building. There were also about 15 rooms booked for our guests and, crucially, no one complained about... more

We completely agree with the earlier review which talks about being at the hotel at the same time as a wedding. We 'shared' Palazzo Viviani with a wedding for the first 4 days of our 6 day holiday, which would have been fine (Italian weddings are pretty impressive) had it not been for the fact that it was made quite... more

The Palazzo Viviani was a really picturesquely set residence. When we arrived the road to the hotel was closed, it took us about an hour to find an alternative way in. We drove to the court yard through very tight streets. We were then told we shouldn't have driven in! The view was amazing and the complex is like a... more

I am writing this review a little over a year ago since we stayed there. I meant to get some pictures posted but never got round to it!. My boyfriend and I stayed at Palazzo Viviani in August 2005. We stayed in one of the apartments which are just outside the main city walls but just a short walk past... more

We read about Castello di Montegridolfo in 'Hip Hotel Guide for Italy' and decided to visit the Palazzo Viviani Hotel last August 2005 - wow! What an amazing place. Its high up in the mountains with 360 degree views of the beautiful landscape. A small medieval hamlet that houses the hotel, 4 locally run restaurants, a bar, a honey shop... more

This hotel would have been perfect if we had stayed when there wasn't a wedding (or other) function in their reception hall and garden. We booked a King room and were shown a twin. When we questioned this we were offered a room in the nearby village. Unfortunately when we entered the proposed room the existing guests had not left... more

We stayed at the Palazzo Viviani at the end of May. The weather was warm and sunny, the pool (outdoor, unheated, sea views) was warm enough to swim in, even for us. This was really welcome after a long, late , cold spring in England. So why am I hesitating to recommend this place wholeheartedly? Basically, I expected too much. The... more
