After travelling around Andalucia we finally end in this beautiful place in Santa Cruz del Comercio. Jeff and Sally are full of passion and run El Amparo with love. This is a perfect place to relax, but also to visit Granada, Malaga or one of the many coast places. When you come back at El Amparo you can enjoy and... more

We have just returned from a week staying at El Amparo. Sally and Geoff are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They have amazing knowledge of the area and were very willing to give us advise on places to visit, walks to do etc. We will certainly return. Avril & Jim Williams more

Just returned from a relaxing stay at El Amparo. We looked on trip advisor before choosing El Amparo and the reviews are correct. It is a very good place to stay. However, it really depends upon what sort of person you are. If you're looking for a beach, night clubs and on-tap attractions then look elsewhere. If you're looking for... more

We were 4 girls wanting to get away for a relaxing weekend and that is just what we got. Sally and Jeff were the perfect hosts and directed us to all the spots we wanted to see and all the things we wanted to do, from shopping in the wonderful city of Granada (we girls all love to shop!) to... more

I returned yet again to El Amparo, this time with my 12 year old grandson. He loved it as much as I do. Sally and Jeff have the knack of making you feel almost one of the family. Nothing's too much trouble for them (even a grandson with food fads) and they make it almost impossible for guests not to... more

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this small rural hotel in Andalucia, S Spain. It is situated about an hour and a half drive north of Malaga, easy to find, as long as it is daylight! It is situated on a hill along an unsurfaced lane, overlooking a beautiful valley with a small, working agricultural village.... more

It would be lovely to reserve this idyllic setting and service for the select few and that is just how you feel - for the select few..but business is business! This is an ideal restful place to stay with stunning scenery yet with advice to places to stay from two genuine genial hosts who wish you to enjoy a good... more

My wife & I stayed at El Amparo in early June 2009. This is a first class property, purpose built for a B&B but in traditional Spanish style. Accommodation is 5 star, meals are first rate, and the hosts offer outstanding service. This B&B is a must if you would like to visit Granada or the coast (both less than... more

This was our first trip to Spain. We wanted to visit a more rural, and therefore more authentic, place and chose this hotel because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. What a good choice we made. The hotel is in a lovely location and has the added benefit of having a large pool and hot tub. It is very tranquil... more

For many years we have travelled and stayed in several small hotels and B&Bs. However this is the first time I have done a review but I felt I must write and tell other people about this wonderful place near Granada. El Amparo epitomises what quality and service is all about. Sally and Jeff have created a perfect environment for... more
