My partner and I spent a very enjoyable week at the Melica Alicante in September 2009. This hotel is brilliantly located with a beautiful big sandy beach on one side and a marina on the other. It is an easy level walk to both the old and new parts of the city and the station for the light rail system... more

This hotel lies between the marina and sea - my room had a fantastic sea view with a good sized balcony. It can easily be reached from the airport by the regular bus (C6) which runs every 20 minutes for 2.60 euros. Go to the end of the line to Plaza Purto de la mar. The hotel is opposite the... more

The room was nothing to write home about, but did have a decent sized balcony with chairs, which was nice. The hotel had restaurants and services and was located right on the beach. It provided beach towels and it was really nice to just walk to and from the beach. The best thing about this hotel is that breakfast came... more

Booked 12 night stay with intention of restful beach holiday, sightseeing and visiting friends in Spain. On arrival hotel room was not as booked, extremely small, dark and claustrophobic but was changed to correct eventually. Second room was much larger and had beach and castle view which was great but found a previous occupants shoes on the carpet near the... more

I stayed at the Melia just for one night on a recent business trip. I would not have picked the hotel for a personal visit because it's too big. It's built for the mass tourist trade so it lacks in charm or personality. Having said that, however, the room was spacious and clean, the staff were helpful, the breakfast was... more

We stayed at the melia alicante and have just arrived back. The hotel was great, we stayed on 'The Level' and had initially been allocated a room which was in the 'V' of the hotel which had a very limited view and tiny balcony. If i'd of had to stay in that room I would not of been happy. The... more

This hotel is great. Our checkin took a ridiculous amount of time, maybe 20 minutes but after that it was all up hill from there. Our room had tiled floor and was facing the marina. The room was perfectly heated, not too warm or too cold with a spacious balcony. One word of warning is to bring your own travel... more

Our party was myself, my husband, our 2 year old son and my parents. We arrived to very friendly check-in staff and the porter immediately produced a helium balloon for my son, and happily entertained him while we checked in. Our two rooms were on opposing sides of the hotel, ours overlooking the beach and my parents room overlooking the... more

We stayed in Melia Alicante for 4 days during a car trip through France and Spain, hoping for nice relaxing couple of days on the beach resort. Unfortunately, our hopes were smashed to pieces right after arrival. I probably have to say, though, that we travel a lot and more used to the standards of holidays provided by 5-star all... more

Stayed in the hotel for a few nights mid August 09 - OK hotel but the beach was very busy and the sea was not at all clean. One piece of advice would be to avoid (at all costs) the jewelry shop at the entrance to the hotel. I made the mistake of buying my son a watch for Euro... more
