We have just spent Christmas and New Year in this fabulous self catering cottage at Thornton in Craven. What a find! The cottage is beautifully designed, decorated and equipped to the highest standard. It is without doubt the cleanest and most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many over the last 25 years during... More

My wife and I recently stayed at Fernside whilst walking along The Pennine Way. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was tastefully furnished immaculately clean. The breakfast was outstanding!. We particularly appreciated the breakfast option of freshly made pancakes with raspberry compot. Our host (Andrew Dawson) was very welcoming and upon arrival he immediately offered us tea/coffee with homemade... More

My wife and I have just returned home from a most comfortable and relaxing two night break at Fernside. We found Andrew to be a wonderful host who provided a very warm welcome to his home with tea and cake on arrival. The accommodation is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated, nothing is out of place and everything is spotlessly clean. Andrew's... More

One of the most thoughtfully designed and managed places we have stayed. From Andrew's warm welcome with tea and home made oat biscuits when we arrived through to the beautifully furnished and very comfortable bedroom, this is a really nice place to stay. We are arrived as walkers on the Pennine Way (not the average visitor here) and were made... More

Thank you for leaving a review on your experience of staying here at Fernside. It’s always good to get constructive feedback - positive or not so positive. I am sorry to read your comments about the Punch Bowl. Many of my guests have enjoyed their visit to the Punch Bowl and I guess it comes to personal expectations / taste. More

This must be the best B & B we've ever stayed in. The room was delightful, the shower amazing. The breakfast was superb and the hospitality second to none. We will definitely return and sooner rather than later I hope. More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at Fernside - Andrew made us feel really welcome and we were well looked after by him and Gary during our stay. Our room was immaculate with lovely views over the Yorkshire countryside and the breakfasts were superb - beautifully cooked and presented. Without doubt the best B&B we have stayed in. This should be rated 5* at least. The accommodation and breakfast are first class. Andrew is the perfect host for whom, nothing is too much trouble. More
