If you are contemplating a stay in the Fordingbridge area where that are many fine walks, some from the door, you will do a lot worse than the Ship Inn where we have just spent three nights.

We were accomodated in the twin-bedded 'Paddle Steamer Room' (Room 1) which was clean and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and an en-suite bathroom with a plentiful supply of hot water. I should add that the motor assisted flushing system was extremely noisy but that's a minor aside.

The food was superb - as good as we've ever enjoyed in Pubs/Inns (and some hotels!) -and we found all staff extremely welcoming and helpful, especially the owners, John, Christine & Gerald.

Overall it was excellent value for money. Very highly recommended. more
