I love Scotland, and I love the Scots, but this beautiful country must contain some of the world's worst hosteliers. This doesn't need to be a 'terrible' hotel: it is a good building in a solid location with a steady stream of wedding-traffic to the nearby Balbirnie House Hotel (nice by the way). Have been going to the restaurant at The Town House Hotel for years even when a multitude of people have told me about their terribe experiences with the owner...i gave her the benefit of the doubt....but no more...the sour face on this woman could curdle milk. We went for a birthday meal and the evening was ruined because of this... more

Really bad stay. They turned the heating off during the night so we woke up freezing cold, went to their 'famous' restaurant I was choking on the food in the restaurant and the waitress said she'd get me some water and never came back with it (I lived) The power shower was a drizzle and not hot enough, The bed... more
