We stayed in the Daimachi room. Overall, the facilities are old and not necessarily dirty, but definitely not the "clean" you can expect from most Japanese places. Homeikan has three buldings in the area. These are old japanese style woodbuildings. The rooms are with tatami-mats and a low table, but no other furniture.
