Sumisho Hotel, Nihonbashi, Chuoku, Tokyo it is a good staging area for exploring the east side of Central Tokyo. The hotel is a little difficult to find being located in a side street. The hotel is a no frills typical Japanese hotel, with windows but no view, with bath for men and women and a small restaurant with tatami mats.... More

Stayed with a friend for three nights in Tokyo. Centrally located and a short walk to the subway and key attractions such as Imperial palace. we loved it so much my friend stayed back there at the end of our trip once I had flown out. More

This is our first trip to tokyo and we spent 6 nights in this hotel. We have a toddler and we booked ourself in a traditional japanese room. Three of us enjoy our stay there. The Japanese style room is bigger than western room. The staffs are helpful. If you want to experience the japanese life, you shouldn't miss the... More

Arriving after dark alone at the Tokyo JR station was all I imagined. The throngs of commuters increased to a crush as I neared the street level after ascending the 5 or so escalators rising from deep underground. Knowing no Japanese was a concern, but Japanese and English were both on many signs and maps in the station and on... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Sumisho Hotel and found it a very friendly place. The level of English at the Hotel was quite sufficient for our requirements. They staff made every effort to understand and accomodate us. We opted for the Japanese Style accommodation, just for the experience. This entailed rolling out your Futon mattress each night - this... More

The room was clean, but we made the mistake to take the smallest western style room (12,9 m2 - seemed to be measured including bath ;-)). As there was no cupboard, there was no space at all to store our stuff, but we had a look into the bigger rooms and they were very nice. Fridge in the room. Internet... More

While touring around Japan, we used Tokyo as our base. We had orinally only booked 4 nights with Sumisho Hotel but we were very pleased so we kept returning. The staff are so friendly and helpful, even though they do not speak much enlglish, we never had an issue communicating. Western rooms are small but all we needed as we... More

Sumisho Hotel is very conveniently located and the room rates are very reasonable. We stayed in a Japanese style room, which I think is more spacious than their western style rooms, but it does entail sleeping on a futon. Sumisho offers traditional Japanese baths, which are a wonderful way to wind down after a busy day. The staff is friendly... More

I'm from The Netherlands and I stayed 4 days at the Sumisho hotel end of March and although it was a very small hotel with tiny rooms, it still has all the necessary basics including very friendly and helpful staff. Only a few of the receptionists spoke sufficient English but the hotel is aimed at the local and business guests... More
