A family of four, we stayed five nights. This is one terrific hotel. Excellent staff and Ben, one of the concierges, is terrific, thank you Ben! Very quiet and classy hotel. The location, short walk to Shinagawa RR and subway station just can't be beat. Very quiet rooms, many with fantastic views. Lots of restaurants of all types and price... more

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Strings hotel in Tokyo. The hotel is located on the 26th floor so no matter what room you stay in you get great views. The staff is friendly & extremely polite. I loved the location of this hotel - literally a couple of steps from Shinagawa station. right on the Yamanote... more

This hotel is located just 1 minute away from Shinagawa station (Shinkansen and local lines) that can take you anywhere. The hotel occupies top floors of a skyscraper building and the views from the rooms are amazing. The decor is pleasing and sleek. The staff was helpful and the room was spacious. There is 7-11 grocery shop on the 1st... more

2 nights with a 1 year old. I've eaten at the Chinese restaurant here many times, but only stayed once. Nice and convenient location. Its basically above Shinagawa station which can take you almost anywhere in Tokyo on the Yamanote Line (and others), to Narita Airport, or all the way west to Fukuoka through Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima on... more

I had a wonderful stay at the Strings. The location next to Shinagawa station is perfect, the rooms are beautiful (fantastic bathroom!), and the staff were excellent—always friendly and helpful. more

I am a business traveler who spent a lot of time in hotels and have stayed many different hotels in Tokyo in the past. I read some good reviews on this hotel so I decided to try it out but it was a disappointment for me. First, the good point - Location: it's near shinagawa station (which is 3rd biggest... more

NO doubt that The Strings by InterContinental is one of the best address in Tokyo. The location is just too great - minutes walk to the Shinagawa station provide direct access both Tokyo airports as well as JR. Buffet breakfast is great though a bit pricy. Overall service, from check-in to housekeeping, are all best in class. more

Stayed here on the first night in Japan after flying in from LAX with three young children. Based on the clientele we saw in the breakfast lounge, the Strings is no doubt targeted to the business traveler who has a decent expense account or who is on the Intercontinental frequent guest program. That being said, we found it to be... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in June for a business trip. It is easy to get here from Narita Airport using the airport limousine bus service (3,000 yen) which stops right in front of the building. The hotel itself is located on floors 26 and up, so it requires some navigating to find it. However, the staff was already waiting... more
