Stayed at the Strings in December on a business trip. The hotel rooms were very large and elegant. The staff was very courteous and professional. Located next to train station, so everything is easily accessible. Hotel offers shuttle to Narita for a nominal fee. more

This hotel is a bit less 'high tech / luxurious" than the ANA Intercontinental Tokyo, but this is fully compensated by the service of the staff! The rooms were a bit smaller, but still very comfortable and the staff was more than attentive during my stay. There is no club lounge, but there's a designated area in their lobby restaurant... more

We stayed 3 days here in Shinagawa. The hotel is right next to the Shinagawa Station so transportation is a breeze. ( Shinkansen, JR, and subway ) Like most Japanese stations, plenty of food choices close by. The hotel itself is modern, very clean and the service was awesome. The check-in is on the 26th floor with 6 floors of... more

This hotel is the top floors above 26th on top of a big office block next to Shinagawa station. This makes it very convenient for anyone visiting Japan/Tokyo for a short or long period. Shinagawa is on the Shinkansen line network, as well as the Narita Express line to Shinjuku or Ofuna. The hotel is amazing for a city centre... more

Our second day in Japan we travelled from Nagoya to Tokyo via Shinkansan. The Strings was basically attached to the station. It was a little confusing that reception was on the 26th floor of Shinagawa East Tower, but we managed it none the less. As soon as we stepped off the elevator we were greeted by friendly and helpful reception... more

Situated just a short walk from Shinagawa station this hotel makes it easy to travel throughout the city by train. I had the good fortune of being there to witness the spectacular Cherry Blossoms in full bloom. The hotel was spectacular as well with wonderful accommodations, city views and even a view of Mt. Fugi on a clear day. Highly... more

I've stayed in many "I" hotels in Asia, this is likely the worse check-in experience I've ever had (luck of the draw I guess). I'd reserved a double single bed, upon arrival, I re-confirmed with the check-in girl if the room was indeed a double single bed. She said 'yes', I got to my room it was a king size.... more

ROOM BOOKED: Club InterContinental Premier Bath View Room (King) STAY LENGTH: 4+ days I had originally planned to stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo (to live out my "Lost In Translation" fantasies like millions of other movie buffs who trek to Tokyo), but unfortunately they were booked out that week (and by booked out I mean all the "cheap" rooms... more

Not sure if I've ever stayed in a hotel with a reception on the 26th flor of an office building. However, The Strings was a very comfortable and convenient place in which to stay. It is located close to Shinagawa station and an easy ride into central Tokyo on the metro. The rooms are compact but well equipped and extremely... more

My husband and I decided to book the Strings as our honeymoon hotel. We can honestly say it was fantastic. The service was amazing, and the staff have fantastic English-with nothing being too much trouble. My only grumble would be we didn't get an upgrade for our honeymoon!!!! We arrived at 10 in the morning but the staff still checked... more
