This hotel is fab. It is very clean and the rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a double room and the bed was very wide, lovely! The bathroom had a bath with a good power shower (not separate) and it was all very clean and new. The staff are wonderful, every single one of them were friendly, helpful,... more

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved it. Close to Shinagawa JR station (one of the Shinkansen stations) and Takanawadai subway station it gave us good access to the main public transport options. Shinagawa also has a lot of restaurants, small supermarket type places and a large department store with a great food hall in the basement. Hotel was... more

I visit Japan 5 times a year on business and the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa is where I always choose to stay. Why? Number 1 is location. Shinagawa is a key transport hub and gives direct access to bus and train services to Narita and Haneda airports, the Shinkansen network and the Yamanote Line which circles central Tokyo. Number 2... more

We had a very pleasant stay at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa for six nights in every way except... for its location. We were looking at staying in in Ebisu, but we couldn't find appropriate accommodations in that neighbourhood. While the hotel is relatively close to a couple of subway stops, you have to walk about 500 meters to find... more

A really nice hotel, sharing grounds with 2 other hotels ( same group ? ). Nice Japanese style gardens. Exceptionally nice staff. It is a ten minute walk to the nearby station, and shops. A little uphill towards the hotel. Free internet. Live piano music in the loungs. All very nice. The rooms are nice. I cannot compare with other... more

I've traveled a lot and so has my partner, but it was our first trip to Tokyo and finding a hotel online in advance of this was a little overwhelming. The reviews and photos on tripadvisor for the Grand Prince Takanawa were OK, I found a good deal, and it looked close to transit but quiet. However, upon arrival and... more

Wife and I stayed 4 nights in the middle of Feb./09 and had a nice time there. It's only a 5 min. walk to Shinagawa station which will get you to most of the major spots in Tokyo (about 15 min. to Shibuya, 17 to Shinjuku). And a direct line to the Narita airport. Yes, we could have taken the... more

Stayed at the Grand Prince Hotel (not to be confused with the Grand Prince NEW Hotel) for 10 days in January 2009 for US $100/night from hotels.com and was very happy. Slightly off the beaten track, this hotel is nonetheless conveniently located to all the major sites - a few minute walk to the Shinagawa JR station which is simple... more
