This is overall a good hotel. I spent a week in Tokyo on vacation. It is a good time to visit Japan with the continued global economic difficulties, prices on hotels and airfare have become very reasonable. When staying at a Japanese hotel, (like everything in life) you get what you pay for. This is a moderately priced hotel in... more

1. Convenient location-a very short walk from a main subway line. 2. Lots of nearby places to eat open late at night, plus some grocery stores. 3. Very clean room. Top of the line toilet! 4. Large/deep tub. My only issue is that they have limited non-smoking rooms. The hallway reeked of smoke. We kept our window open which helped... more

This hotel was like a refuge from the city lights and crowd of a big city like Tokyo. Just like any major Asian city, Tokyo has only a few pockets of quiet hotels that are affordable. Monterey Hotel in Akasaka is one of them, and it's actually only 4-5 blocks away from the nearest subway station (Akasaka-Mitsuke Station on both... more

We had a lovely stay for 6 nights in mid April. T he hotel has a great location. Take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station , take the subway from there to Akasaka Mitsuke Station (Line M MARUNOUCHI SUBWAY LINE), get out at Exit A, walk straight for 300-400 meters. It's just across the street from a temple. Great neighbourhood.... more

Stayed at Hotel Monterey Okasaka for 3 nights with my boyfriend. We really enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect (central, really lively area during the week, less so at the weekend since it is a business district). The hotel was nice and clean (although the room was quite small, but that wasn't a problem for us). The staff was really... more

I really liked this hotel! It is close to two metro stops that will take you virtually everywhere in the city. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was just for two and was quite small, but the bed was very comfortable. Also, there was a small refrigerator in the room. As well, the room was very very... more

During our first ever trip to Tokyo, we stayed at the Monterey Akasaka for 3 nights. We were looking for affordable comfort and the Monterey exceeded all expectations. The room was small, but perfectly designed. Little details made the difference... plenty of shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries, ample closet room, shelf above the bed for books. We've stayed... more

It was hard finding a good deal on hotels in Tokyo, they were all really expensive. Hotel Monterey Akasaka was very well located in the Minato Ku district, close to the Akasaka Mitsuke Railway station. The room was small, but extremely comfortable. The room was very clean, amenities were fine. Internet access was free. The staff were extremely helpful. They... more

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel, it was good value given its a 4 star and that Tokyo hotels are expensive. Room was small but nicely decorated, great bathroom with a very deep bath. Location is not the best for tourists, though its easy to get everywhere on the subway with a station nearby, if I was going back I... more

We stayed here for 4 days as a start of our honeymoon; I used to live in Akasaka so now the area really well. Knowing the room was small, I was only a bit dissappointed with the closet space, not too much space for a suitcase full of clothes for 2 people on a 10day stay, but other than that,... more
