This is one place that lives up to the hype. Great rates, english speaking staff, nice onsen and business center on site, and easy walk from Shinjuku station. The studio is incredibly small, but literally has everything - tv, kitchenette with two burners, fridge, microwave. Room safe, bathrobes and complimentary water. We stayed 3 nights in a studio at Oakwood Shinjuku. The studio was great, with a very nice view at night. It was just a little small, but otherwise perfect. The location is very convenient - 5-10 min walk from Shinjuku station, where you can get trains to other destinations in Tokyo - and the direct train to the airport... more

Apartment style hotels always geta thumbs up from me in major cities. Oakwood are not the biggest or best for value when compared to London for example, but Tokyo is a completely differnet kettle of fish. Located a reasonable hike from Shinjuku Station, which is a major transportation hub, our two-bedroom apartment at Oakwood Apartments Shinjuku served both as a convenient base from which to explore the city and as a peaceful retreat.
