Kimi is not a bad place, I mean here you got very reasonable price and better staffs in this area. I came to Japan 3 or 4 times per year as a business traveler. As a non-Japanese-speaking tourist, I always feel not so comfortable when travelling through the local shops, stations, banks or even the local companies buildings where I cannot have... more

By far the worst lodging experience I had in Japan. There are no slippers for the shower rooms, nor soap and shampoo. The showers are dirty and smelly, as are the toilet areas. The room was small, and the tatami in it was moudly. Worst of all, the tatami emanated a smelled so foul I could barely sleep due to... more

After staying in two other ryokans, Kimi feels a bit like a ryokan for backpackers. The best thing about it is its location. There's a nice common area downstairs where you can hang out watch TV and they also have free fast wifi. The staff was nice but they do have a curfew at around midnight, make sure you aren't... more

Some of the reviews concerning Kimi have been really negative, so I was a bit apprehensive on going there (my stay was to be rather long too). But I need not have worried. The staff, which some reviewers found unhelpful, was the opposite to me. Very kind and going out of their way to help me with everything I asked... more

I just returned from Tokyo yesterday. I've been to Tokyo many times, and I can say this, Japanese standards for hotel, motel, hostels, are clean. I stayed at a really nice Ryokan in Kagaonsen the night before we arrived in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. So yes you can understand why we were a little disappointed with signs all over the places, no... more

Many reviews on this site seem to be quite negative about Kimi Ryokan. I have to say my experience was a good one at this ryokan. Whilst i acknowledge that the bathrooms were not as clean as i would have liked and some of the staff were not the most helpful, I think on the whole, the place was a... more

Great stay. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the high price of hotels in Tokyo. In addition to staying here, I also stayed a couple nights at the mega-hotel Shinagawa Prince. I stayed at the Shinagawa Prince's East Tower which is its single rooms. They are long and narrow rooms. While it was nice too,... more

I've just been travelling throughout Japan with my friends, and this was by FAR the worst of all the places we stayed in. There are other reviews that rave about the cleanliness, but I would beg to differ. Their standard is the MINIMUM standard expected in Japan, when you take into account the culture. Any ryokan you go to would... more

Very simple - DO NOT STAY in Kimi Ryokan! My friends and I stayed there for a few nights and here is what I have to say... 1. The rooms are SUPER squishy. They basically have a single sized room (already small for one person), chuck a second futon (Japanese style bed) in and call it a "Medium Double". With... more

A few things: 1. The staff at the reception were not very nice. (Though the cleaners, who are actually Japanese, are really nice). The people at reception kept bugging us to pay since the very first day we were there. 2. All the "don't do this" notices around the ryokan were making us feel the owners of hotel don't trust... more
