Stayed there for 4 nights. As usual small western style rooms with even smaller bathroom. Great location, only 2 minutes from Ueno Park/Station good restaurants/bars and shopping opportunities around.

Odds are, you're at home, planning your upcoming trip. One thing to keep in mind is to check how well your hotel is connected to the various modes of public transport. It saves you quite some time (and money) if you are placed well in the grid. So, why bring this up? Because this hotel is in such a great... More

This small hotel is located a couple of blocks from the Okachimachi subway and within walking distance from Ueno train station where you can get the Skyliner train directly to Narita International airport (around 40 mins). I stayed as a single person in room 412. The bed is big enough for two people but if you book this room for... More

This was a great little hotel. It was a little older than some of the hotels I stayed in in Japan, but I think this was a good thing as it was the largest single room I had stayed in. It was genuinely a no smoking room. As a single female traveller, I also apprectiated that at check in I... More

Stayed 3 nights in January. I picked it due to the reviews it had. The location is fantastic - tubes nearby and the Skyliner train to the airport. Lots of shops, stalls, activity plus a very full Ueno park all within easy walking. I was worried about the room/bed size - I am 6ft 6ins tall - so I told... More

I recently stayed here on my last night in Tokyo. I booked this place because of its close location to Skyliner train to get back to Narita airport . At the start of my trip my friends and I stayed at Ryokan Kangetsu which was really out of the way and did not have the usual amenities I prefer when... More

We have been hunting for hotels to stay in Tokyo, and this is one of the best bargains. The rooms we had were semi double and are more suited for the smaller Asian/Japanese built, but other than that it had all the basic amenities. The room also had a pristine clean feel to it. In one sentence, this hotel is... More

Friendly staff, pretty room, good half-way option for those seeking a traditional Japanese sleeping experience. This included futon mattresses and hard (rice bag?) pillows! The bathroom actually had a separate toilet, which was a nice surprise after the very small bathrooms we had encountered in Japan.

Sure, the rooms are not big... but, hey, you're in Japan! It's big enough if you're only planning to rest. Actually, I managed to book a single room for 2 persons (via Rakuten) and we didn't really find it uncomfortable. The bathroom is a little tight, especially for girls who want to dress and make up nicely in there, though.... More

I stayed for two nights at this hotel in October 2008 and found it satisfactory. My room was small and the decor is very dated, but the hotel was good value and is in an excellent location (very close to two major subway lines and an express train to Narita Airport as well as Ueno park and the other attractions...
