Friendly staff, pretty room, good half-way option for those seeking a traditional Japanese sleeping experience. This included futon mattresses and hard (rice bag?) pillows! The bathroom actually had a separate toilet, which was a nice surprise after the very small bathrooms we had encountered in Japan. more

Sure, the rooms are not big... but, hey, you're in Japan! It's big enough if you're only planning to rest. Actually, I managed to book a single room for 2 persons (via Rakuten) and we didn't really find it uncomfortable.
