Service was great. Rooms are a good size with heating. Lovely view of Ueno Park and Shinobazu pond. We asked specifically for a park view. Lots of shopping - both department stores and markets. Ueno is on the shinkansen line for northern Honshuu, and only a couple of stops to Tokyo station on the Yamanote Line. Very convenient. There is... more

My spouse, myself, and my two college age kids stayed at this hotel in early June '09. This was the last place we stayed in our 2 weeks of sightseeing in Japan. We paid about $160/room for two double rooms as we could not find any 2 double bed rooms in Tokyo. This hotel is nothing fancy but very adequate.... more

A few tips about the Parkside, 1. ACCESS: Ok for access in from Narita. Take the Keisei Skyliner or if you want to save a few quid, the Keisei Limited express which takes a bit longer. Hotel 10 mins walk from Station. For travel around Tokyo, Yushima station on Chiyoda Metro Line only around the corner. 2. NOISE: Do get... more

This hotel was a perfect base for our two week honeymoon in Tokyo. We stayed in the Japanese style room with open air bath for one night - well worth it, it was amazing! The other rooms are compact and clean, the service is excellent and the location is perfect for exploring Tokyo. The only thing we didn't realise is... more

After looking at trip advisor for a bunch of hotels, we settled on this one. Based on other reviews, we decided to go for a twin wide park view room that cost 180 Yen per night, a little more than the other rooms, but not a bad price for Tokyo. Compared to American hotels, the room is a little small... more

We were there por 4 nights and they were very kind. Rooms are OK and they have bathroom which is small but it's clean. Rooms with view to Ueno Park are wonderful (for example room 609) more

Hi. I'm writing a review of the Hotel Parkside in Ueno. I stayed there at the end of December. It was my first time in Japan and I think I made an excellent choice in staying accommodation. Reservations: I emailed the hotel directly and was surprised and pleased at the extremely quick and friendly replies. The staff is very helpful... more

We travelled to Japan early September to spend three weeks touring with my son who has lived there for three years. Having put an itinerary together, our first stop was Tokyo, where we had decided to base ourselves for six nights, allowing time to explore Tokyo itself and the surrounding area. I read lots of hotel reviews on tripadvisor before... more

The hotel has a great, convenient location, near the Ueno JR, Keisei train (take this from the airport to the hotel), and the subway. The hotel is across from Ueno park and the bit of green is a nice refuge from the lights of Tokyo. It is also close to the many sites of Ueno park, like the Tokyo National... more

Subarashi means great or fantastic in Japanese. That would sum up this hotel in a nutshell. The hotel was very clean everywhere throughout. The rooms were spotlessly clean, I was very impressed. The beds were comfortable, you had a TV and computer with keyboard in the rooms too. It was a high-quality flat screen TV, which served also as a... more
