Ryokan Kamogawa is located in the heart Asakusa, Stayed there last November 26, 2009. It is 5 minute walk from the Asakusa Subway station, 3 minutes away from the Senjoji Temple, and 1 minute walk to the wonderful yummy restaurant IMAHAN. The ryokan is very clean and the proprietor is very accomodating and friendly. The location is superb, just a... more

Normally I always trust the reviews left on Tripadvisor, so when I read such great reviews about this hotel I was convinced that it was an excellent choice and booked us in for 8 nights. But, I was very disappointed with it and thoroughly surprised that every review highly reccomended this place. I'm not sure, maybe it has changed ownership,... more

They do a wonderful job at this little ryokan. The absolute BEST part of our stay was the FREE breakfast, which is delivered directly to your room. Don't be fooled by the simple description of Toast and Coffee. They definitely go the extra mile. Breakfast was surprisingly refreshing and delicious. Served on English-style chinaware, our breakfast consisted of thick bread... more

We stayed 7 nights in this lovely, family ryokan. It was easy to find using the directions on the website and incredibly close to the metro and just off the main shopping street of Asakusa. All of the staff were incredibly warm and friendly and our limited Japanese was appreciated but not necessary. We were upgraded to a larger Japanese... more

A fantastic little ryokan, with very friendly, helpful staff. One of the best things about this place was the wonderful location, in a very beautiful part of Tokyo. The staff were courteous and kind, and I would definitely recommend this place. more

Great owners / family - friendly and helpful - Good value and great location central in Asakusa for the shrine, arcades and JR. A bit of a trek to some subway lines and breakfast was just OK - better if was Japanese not Euro - but coffee was welcome. Mid price.Compact Japanese style room. more

We spent 3 nights in Asakusa while in Tokyo, first night in their largest room (private ensuite) and then two nights in a smaller room (also private ensuite). Ryokan Kamogawa has a GREAT location and friendly staff. We used the trains and subways a lot so it was very convenient for all our sightseeing. Breakfast was very light (considering daily... more

Located in Asakusa quite close to the Temple. There are several restaurants and shops nearby. Greater Tokyo is easily accessible via subway or using a JR pass from Ueno station. Typical of all Ryokans the rooms are small but they are clean and air conditioned. The Futon on Tatami mats were very comfortable and we slept well. The Ryokan offers... more

We stayed for three days at this hotel in early Jan 09. It is a small family run traditional hotel which was in a lovely old part of Tokyo. It was great to wander around the local streets and visit the nearby temple. The hotel was spotlessly clean and we used the shared shower which was on a different floor... more

I did a lot of research before selecting this place. I chose it because it had three great things going for it: Location, availability, and cost. Its location is fantastic -very pedestrian friendly. 3 minute walk from Asakusa station, and less than that to the Ginza line entrance. Less than a minute walk to the Nakamise Dori shops and less... more
