Great place to stay for a first time visit to Japan. The rooms very very small but completely what we expected for the price. The bathrooms were amazingly clean and so were the rooms. My one complaint would be that it was a bit of a distance to walk from the station entrances - especially lugging large suitcases. The nearby... more

First of all, if you're looking for something close to the party places at night, well, Asukasa isn't it - but you can visit a lot of places easily from here. The staff is great - I only had one misunderstanding, but it was an important one - as to whether I could get my luggage delivered to the airport... more

The Asakusa hostel became like a second home to us when we arrived! The staff were so friendly and everyone in the hostel can meet up in the main lounge area, which was great for meeting new people. The dorms we stayed in were 6 and 8 bed. The 8 bed dorms were a little tight for space but we... more

As usual, I located where I wanted to stay on Google. I located this Hostel on the internet. I have stayed at several guest houses and hostels in the past few years. This one is the best so far. (as of Jan 09) Basics: Important things first. Check in: anytime between 1PM and 9PM, however later check in is possible... more

My family of four - which includes 2 teenagers, stayed at this hostel for the week between Christmas and New years. The front desk staff is great - always friendly and helpful. They were the stars of this place. We had a 4 bed room to ourselves. Unfortunately, it was the farthest room, on an outside corridor, so every time... more

OK I know this review is rather late because it was Spring 2007 when I stayed at Sakura, but I thought I wanna contribute something for a place I like so much… For a start, I want to say THANK YOU to the staff at Sakura, especially Koji-san the night manager and Yuri-san for her help with Jimba-san. 本当にありがとうございます。 Right,... more

I couldn't recommend anywhere more than this hostel, everything from the location, staff and price are perfect. we stayed in a 8 bed dorm room for two weeks. It has a 24 hour curfew(very useful in tokyo) a beer vending machine (also very useful), internet and a very well laid out lobby area just incase you wanna chill out for... more

/www.sakura-hostel.co.jp I stayed there from Nov. 16-20, and then 2 nights on Nov 26-27. I highly recommend if you are traveling on a budget. Positives: Location: From Narita Airport, I took the Skyliner Express (about $10 USD Dollars), and about 70 min later, I was at Ueno Station. Found the Ginza line (160 Yen), go to G19 (last exit), follow... more
