We have stayed twice at Clanville Manor and intend making many more visits. The location is superb; the house beautiful; the hosts kind, informative and attentive. The breakfast menu is excellent and the rooms are quiet, very clean, comfortable and with a charming small manor house atmosphere. Clanville Manor is placed within easy reach of a wide variety of places... More

Clanville Manor is an elegant house, located in a beautiful and peaceful setting, hosts Sally and Rob delightful. On arrival we were invited to sit in the lounge or garden for a pot of tea and homemade cake. Breakfast is to order, produce locally sourced, accompanied by homemade bread, eggs laid by the resident hens, and all cooked to perfection.... More

Many thanks for your review. We try to give guests what we would like in a B&B. Can't qualify as an hotel as we don't provide meals other than breakfast-and afternoon tea on afternoon arrival! However, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay. We are busy getting the pool ready for the summer season-let's hope the weather brightens... More

Clanville Manor proved to be a luxurious and thoughtfully run Bed and Breakfast. The location of the manor itself is within a working farm and is an idealic setting for a relaxing stay. During our stay, Sally the host was exceptionally attentive, informative and accommodating. Breakfast was all locally sourced and a generous start to the day. I would recommend... More

Thank you for your appreciation of our traditional values-we certainly try to offer the best of the modern comforts with ensuite rooms and free Wi-Fi plus the outdoor pool in summer, whilst maintaining the traditional feel of our Georgian farmhouse on our farm and 'traditional breakfasts with lighter alternatives. Menu choices are on our website. More

from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and this continued through out our stay. You get a lovely feel of being a valued customer without it being in any way intrusive. The information supplied after booking was spot on and we knew exactly where to go upon arrival. As has been said by others the cooked... More

We had a lovely welcome at Clanville Manor and were impressed by the attention to detail. Sally is wonderful and as I see someone has mentioned before but really nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate to return. Jac and Andy

Thank you so much for your kind review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here at Clanville Manor-and the upgrade to the Four-poster room for the birthday weekend! I hope we shall see you again-maybe in the summer when the pool is open. More

It was good to see you both again. The Superking room is spacious with twin beds that can be linked together and also has a bath with shower over it. The Four-Poster room (6 foot wide bed) is also spacious, and the smaller 'king' (5 foot wide bed) have ensuite power showers. The single room, rare in these parts, is... More

We stayed two nights at Clanville whilst visiting nearby friends. Sally Snook was a wonderful hostess and made the stay a memorable one. Our only regret was the time of year. In the summer months we could have enjoyed the swimming pool. Perhaps an excuse for a return visit

Thank you very much for your review-I am glad you enjoyed your stay even though, being February, the pool is not open! We open it from the beginning of June, sometimes earlier if the weather is good, until the end of August. I hope we may see you again. More

Clanville Manor is a beautiful, well-maintained pocket Georgian country house in a fascinating area of Somerset. It looks out into its own farmland and lovely views on all sides; at night all is quiet, and though the market town of Castle Cary is close by there are so few streetlights that the stars look three times brighter than they do... Took a gamble on a last minute get-away that certainly paid off. The large room featured a fine Queen-sized 4 poster bed, and period furnature. The lounge area had a large open fire, Sally was a delightful and friendly host and the tea and cake on arrival was a lovely touch. There were several options for breakfast and both the... More
