Lovely hotel off the beaten path close to train stations. The king room was spacious and well appointed. The club lounge had fantastic views and plentiful food and beverage items. Also the morning breakfast buffet downstairs was a real treat each morning with excellent service.

Trying to get through all Marriott properties in Tokyo, so far haven’t really found a winner other than the not-so-well located Westin. This one however has a special place in design hell. Just checked-in and frankly this is a shocker of a Marriott property. Room (no Platinum upgrade of course) is dated beyond the reasonable with awful colours, super cheap materials (purple plastic cups in the bathroom) and direct sight and sound from the nearby and very busy train tracks. It also has a first - the wardrobe built directly from the floor (see photo). Haven’t seen this before and, like the rest of the room, it looks very cheap. Bathroom is very claustrophobic with super low ceiling and has large bio stains on the walls. Additionally, an incident at check-in gives me pause - I arrived whilst on a client call and so was seemingly paying less attention although I immediately noticed a weird manoeuvre by the check-in clerk. She created two keys, set one aside and added another one picked from a nearby tray. When I reached my room, as expected one worked and one didn’t. I went back and spoke to a manager who initially pretended he didn’t understand the issue only to suddenly look very concerned and apologise for what he called a “mistake”… very odd and quite unsettling as clearly this was all deliberate. Only somewhat redeeming factor is the lounge, with lovely staff and a decent if small selection - certainly not enough to warrant returning. First and last stay. To be avoided, nothing really worth a return stay.

Classic business hotel, which could have been anywhere in USA. Dated but clean decor. Rooms are very large by Japan standards, so that's a positive. Bathrooms are also spacious but I personally dislike a shower above a bathtub. Breakfast in the restaurant is OK, with eggs to order and a small Japanese/Asian selection. Evening bar service is friendly and attentive. Gym has good quality new equipment but limited in their range/selection. Main negative is the hotel isn't so convenient to the train station - they offer a public bus free shuttle but that also drops off on the far side of the road so you're walking in the rain to the train station if it's wet.

I booked a Deluxe room as a Marriott Gold member. I’m quite used to no upgrades from Marriott but at least welcome points and late checkout were acknowledged. The hotel features a free shuttle to Shinagawa Station. This is convenient and useful as it’s a bit of a walk especially if you have luggage. Note that the shuttle does not feature any hotel livery and appears similar to a regular bus so make sure to keep an eye out on the displays. The room itself was very nice. I’ve stayed at Marriott’s main competition in Tokyo and I personally found the room here as the best among them. I noticed that the king bed was actually two smaller beds pushed together. This is not a big deal to me but for a review I’m not going to ignore it. I’d like to comment regarding location and competition in Tokyo. Shinagawa Station is a major station but it’s not particularly compelling. I personally don’t do much there but take the train elsewhere. A few of Marriott’s main competitors are in frankly more interesting locations such as Shinjuku. If you’re loyal to Marriott, want a nice room, and prefer a quiet location then this hotel may suit your needs. That said my completely honest opinion is that for the same price I’d much rather be in more interesting areas such as Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, or Ginza. With a significant discount I would consider staying again however at it’s average price point it’s a tough sell for me.

The hotel staff does a great job making me feel comfortable. They are professional and very helpful. The hotel is also located very close to Shinagawa station. In particular, I enjoy their cozy and fun restaurant. Breakfast has been amazing. Ms. Marketa and Tomoko-san are wonderful hostesses. They are professional, hospitable, and accommodating.

Hotel itself is good, service is very unprofessional eventually. I am Titanium Bonvoy member so I get the lounge access included. I plan myself to arrive an hour before afternoon tea event close so I could make sure to try it out. I checked in with an aged man(60-65 I believe), everything is all right, he explained hotel overall and provide me two keycard, I gave my wife one so she can drop her stuffs. Me and my kids rushed up to afternoon tea which is approx 30mins to close, I touch the keycard to the lounge door but it won't open. I saw the phone in front so I called to asked why, a woman pick up and said to me"you have 2 keys right? one key is for room and one key is for the lounge. do I get it?" instead of her helping calling to the reception at the lounge to open for me I have to go to my room and get it. I think of my self, shouldn't she make guest feel more welcome and have some sympathy, oh well, whatever. So I rush back to the room to get my wife's keycard, arrived at the club and hit my keycard to the door, guess what? It still don't open. at this moment I get so god damm angry as the afternoon tea is soon to close, so I pick up a phone to call reception, explain/yell everything furiously and now she said that she will call the club lounge to open the door for me. I wait few mins and the club lounge door open, guess what? it's not the employee, it's the guest exit the door. when I enter I asked to the club employee why I couldn't get it. so she explained that I should have present with 2 sets of key cards, not 2 keycards. it should be 2 for club lounge and 2 for the room. *so mistake number one, key cards not correctly provide. oh whatever, so I enter the club lounge and yeah, like what I thought the afternoon tea is closed as expected. and as expect the front desk that did the mistakes came up and bow said that he's sorry, pretend to listen then nod one more and then leave. seriously WT, it ended super super easy, I was furious because of the mistake you make and you just get away easy, oh whatever TF, I want this to be over. I got back to the room, lay on my bed and rest, talked to my wife if we should go to haruka 300 at day or night better. *and again mistake number two, same front desk forgot to provide the complimentary ticket. This is a very annoying mistake as if I didn't know this benefit before, we would all miss it. I know that haruka 300 is not a lot of money but the thing is, how long have you been working here? are you on a day one job? this front desk keep on making mistakes again and again. he is a Marriott front desk for many years, as a guest how do I have to keep correcting his mistake, How can I be more professional than him? and again I called say that ticket is missing, they noted it. same front desk just came up to the room, give the ticket, bow down saying that he's sorry and that's it, very easy to get off. oh well, apart from that unprofessional frontdesk, everything else is good. room is clean, size is good even with high floor upgrade. Evening cocktail food and booze is not so good but breakfast is all right. departing to airport is really really easy. didn't get a chance to try afternoon tea session as I met a incompetently front desk

It was a few years since we stayed at this Marriott and it looked almost the same. We still had to catch the shuttle to the hotel from Shinagawa Station. The bus looked just like one of the city buses so that was confusing initially since we expected to see one with the Marriott name on it. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite and it was quite spacious though the furnishings seemed a little dated. Since this was our last night in Japan it was perfect since we decided to spend the evening and most of the next morning resting before our flight home. The bathroom had lots of useful countertop space with separate shower and toilet. The marble flooring in the shower was a concern and we had to be very careful when it was wet and not slip. Not sure why they chose polished marble for the flooring as there was not traction. The lounge had nice views and served snacks and drinks all day. The afternoon tea was quite light but at least the evening spread was a little better. We opted to eat breakfast in the first floor restaurant with it wide buffet selection. It was as good as before and we enjoyed the fruits, pastries, Japanese and western items. As for other parts of the hotel, a Family Mart (?) was in the basement of the adjoining office building so one could buy snacks and drinks. A small park was in the back, had a couple waterfalls to enjoy but seemed a bit overgrown with paths that were closed off. The gym on the first floor was functional with dumbbells and cardio equipment. Service overall was good especially in the lounge where we spent a lot of time.

The Tokyo Marriott Hotel has long been our haven in the bustling metropolis, earning the title of our preferred choice in Tokyo and our most-visited hotel across Japan. It stands as a paragon of urban tranquility, a consistent reminder of why we return. 😍 So Good: Buffet Breakfast: A veritable feast offering a medley of local and global flavors to start the day. Suite Comfort: Expansive and serene, the suites boast deep soaking tubs and an array of thoughtful amenities. Club Lounge Excellence: The Club Lounge delights with its array of fine food and beverages. 🤟Attentive Staff: Every need is met with a smile, reflecting the hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction. 🙁 Not So OK: 🚌Shuttle Service: While complimentary, the shuttle can be a waiting game during peak times. 👌 Just OK: Off-Center Location: Requires strategic planning to access Tokyo’s bustling center. 👴Time's Imprint: There's charm in its character, though a modern makeover is due in spots. 💡 Tips and Recommendation: Loyalty Luxuries: Leverage the Marriott Bonvoy program for additional benefits. Concierge Insight: Rely on concierge expertise for local guidance and logistical needs like airport luggage transfer. Gotenyama Garden: Embrace tranquility and beauty in Gotenyama Garden, an urban oasis perfect for capturing the essence of Tokyo's seasons. 💖 Conclusion: Our choice of the Tokyo Marriott is beyond a mere preference; it's about the value it brings to our travels. Words may fall short in capturing its full allure, but the experience awaits to speak for itself. We hope it becomes a cherished part of your journey as it is in ours.

We stayed at the Tokyo Marriott for 8 nights and it was wonderful and very pleased with the service from the Front Office team as well as the Executive lounge team. My first Tokyo trip with my daughter, at first we were surprised that the hotel was in Shinagawa. because we arrived late and didn't know the area we took an airport limousine and it took us straight to the hotel , it was very convenient. We learned and found out how to get around everyday there and we took the Metro every day from Shinagawa and it was very easy. We took the shuttle from the hotel as well and walked back and forth to the Shinagawa station and it was a very short walk if you like the fresh air. The check in/check out were very smooth and the FO agents and the team were s very friendly, professional and always willing to help. I would like to recognize agents: Dahal Sanchita, Shrestha Abhimanyu, Sijan, Abhi,Bishal,Bino,Yuka Excellent services team :) The hotel was near the beautiful park and very close to Shinagawa Shrine, room was very big, nice furniture and spotless clean. I loved the shower, it was strong and good pressure, it was nice after the long explored day and it was a bonus with nice tea and Nespresso coffee in the morning. The bell desk agents are always smiling and the Executive lounge team are excellent as well. Thanks again to all the agents at Tokyo Marriott that I was in touch with excellent services that made our trip smooth and memorable while we were away from home . We will be back to see you again :)
