My gilrfriend and I stayed for four nights in August at Quinta Das Acacias in the Yellow Cottage. Despite only being a few km's from the capital, Ponta Delgada, you would never know it. It's hidden down a long drive and the enclosed gardens are really lovely. Its run by Eduino (Azorean) and Bonita (Canadian) who were extremely friendly and welcoming. The self catering apartments are both clean and very comfortable. It's best to have a hire car and easy to explore the whole island from here. The food supermarket in Ponta Delaga is only about a 10 minute drive and the apartments have BBQ facilties. All in all a great place to realx. more
