Booked a one night stay at Blackyetts Mains from an internet search when my wife and I needed a stopover on journey back from holiday in Scotland. Price for the room and breakfast was very good, and we were expecting the routinely adequate "perfectly OK for the night" B&B. Wrong! Dave was outside to welcome us and carry the bag... more

We have stayed here several times now and find it extremely convenient for our travels to Scotland. Spacious, high comfort level, immaculate decor and furnishings. David and Verity are the perfect hosts and cannot fault B&B in any way. Highly recommended . The hotel in Ecclefechan provides a very good meal at a reasonable rate. more

The room was very comfortable and beautifully renovated. David prepared an amazing breakfast and helpfully suggested a few alternatives for dinner as we arrived late in the day. Although Blackyett was a bit off the main roads, it is quite convenient for visiting Hadrian's Wall and the lake district (which we did the following day). more

Scones and tea served in spacious guest sitting room with wood burning stove and distant views over the Solway Firth. Comfortable, modern bedroom and ensuite. Great breakfast - home... more

We only stayed 2 nights at Blackyett Mains, but WOW, what a fantastic, friendly and homely place. We arrived in a village near to the actual B&B and had to phone to get directions, and then Verity said that she would come and get us. Which was a very plesent surprise and that set the tone for our stay. When... more
