We went to Guzelyurt on a whim and took a chance by booking this hotel at the last second, despite little information on the internet about it - we're so glad we did! Abdullah, the owner, and his son, Semih, did everything they could to make our stay a good one. When we first arrived we were invited to have tea and a home-made meal with the family in the lovely cafe/breakfast room they have. They were kind enough to ask Mustafa (one of the many brothers..) to speak English with us, and he was able to recommend an itinerary for our stay.
The room was large and comfortable, and had all we needed (except a kettle), and the decor was realy in keeping with the building. We loved the tandir oven turned into a table! . These looked like good fun however - they were in original underground caves. Location-wise, the hotel is a 5 minute stroll from the small town centre, 10 min to monastery valley - plently of options for eating (they have local dishes for the area) and emergency...
