We stayed at the Travara Lodge during a recent trip to lovely West Cork. It is located in the small, picturesque town of Courtmacsherry. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had a wonderful view of Courtmacsherry Bay.
Our host, Brendan, was most helpful, guiding us to a wonderful 'seven heads' walk along a cliffside and through a bluebell forest, and recommending an excellent French restaurant, Dillons, in nearby Timoleague.
Brendan is a trained chef, so it was no big surprise that the breakfast was first class, including his own homemade bread.
I would strongly recommend this exceptionally nice lodging to anyone visiting this beautiful part of the country. more
