My wife and I stayed at Le Grand Bleu the week of May 21st and we had a most wonderful stay, thanks mainly to the manager, Gerard. He was like a friend by the end of our stay. He went above and beyond to assist us with whatever we needed, from rental car, ferry tickets to St. Barts and even... More

The location is very close to the beach, but that is about the extent of good that I can say about it. The furniture is old and dated, and I was accused of damaging their old rickety bed. In addition, I left my phone in the hotel, which they confirmed and sent me an email stating that they have it.... More

We have stayed here previously because of the wonderful location, just a short walk off Orient Beach. Our last stay was in 2009 and the then "Cap Caribes" was needing some attention by the management. We returned this year after reading reviews that new owners took over in 2011 and it was now Le Grand Bleu. The new manager Gerard... More

I left Le Grand Bleu not waiting to write a review about this place. We stayed on the Dutch Side 4 nights, then decided to go to the French side and check it out, and instantly regretted it. We chose Le Grand Bleu because it was the ONLY place with availability in Orient Bay. We got there and it didnt... More

We had a great time at Le Grand Bleu. Our room was on the ground floor, with sliders to a deck right by the pool entrance. Wonderfully comfy king bed, very useful kitchenette, good TV, nice upholstered chairs/coffee table/sitting area. We had trouble figuring out the European-style stove, microwave, coffeemaker at first - we should have asked the very helpful... More

Thank you so very much for taking the time to write such an accurate review on our property. It is always nice to hear when we have met our guest's expectations. On behalf of the management and staff of the Esmeralda Resort we thank you again. More

We have stayed here in the past, when the hotel was known as the Caraibes Beach Hotel ( and before that, the Hotel Cap Caraibes ). We just got back on March 21, 2012, after a 6 night stay, and I am happy to report that all is well. Our room had been freshly painted, and a new A/C unit... More

We came to LGB after 4 days in Miami Beach and felt like we came to the right place to really relax. The hotel isn't in perfect shape but is on the fast track to be back in top shape. . We arrived on Super Bowl Sunday, and believe it or not watched the Super Bowl in our room in... More

The location is fabulous, but there's a fatal flaw--there was absolutely no water pressure after 7 a.m. which meant we could not take a shower after coming back from a day at the beach--all sandy and suntan lotion-y. The manager was as nice as could be, but couldn't do anything. Luckily, our friends were staying down the road at La... More

Dear Guest, We have long struggled with local administrations and company responsible for water distribution on the problem of water pressure. Indeed, not having plans of the initial network of water distribution, it was necessary to conduct surveys to identify the exact location of the problem. We dug and found a meter deep a stop valve completely corroded that we... More

I just returned from a fabulous trip to Saint Maarten with my mom. We stayed at the charming Le Grand Bleu for 5 nights and were pleased at the quality of service and friendliness of the staff. Gerard and Frederica went out of their way to accommodate all of our requests and make us as comfortable as possible in the... More

We stayed at LGB from 23 to 27 January, 2012. My husband booked it as a surprise trip for my B’day. We had stayed at this property when it was Cap Caraibe. The rooms are fairly spacious with a small kitchenette facility, which is convenient. There is also a small terrace or balcony. The hand painted rum sample bottle and... More
