We found this place by chance after a late visit to Stonehenge and were very pleasantly surprised! Dick and Joan were very welcoming and the house is beautiful! The bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious, with homemade jams and eggs cooked to order. Highlly recommended.

We felt very welcome and comfortable with Dick and Joan - although we were only there overnight en route to Marlborough. The decor is in keeping with the period of the house and is charming. We stayed for two nights in this lovely old house. The hosts were very welcoming, the room was clean and tidy and the breakfasts were freshly cooked to order. Although the house is on a pretty busy road, the noise wasn't a problem. And a bonus is somewhere to park one's car off the road. Therewere a few minor concerns... More

Maddington house is ideal for visiting a lot of interesting places, such as Stonehenge, Mere, Salisbury, Milton house, Longleat, and all other houses, manors, castles of SW-Wiltshire. There is a garage next door (no noise), a very good shop at 3 minutes walk. The only problem is the noise of the motorway that starts at 5 o'clock in the morning.... More
