Pousda Vale Du Carmo is the dream in Antonio and Marli, they are absolutely fantastic hosts, and really went out of their way to take care of us: making special vegetarian dinners, driving us to the local major tourist attraction, and even waiting with us until 11:30pm for our bus. Although Antonio and Marli´s english is limited, they try hard and when we left they said they plan on taking lessons.

The rooms are all separate little bungalows (although quite close together). They are super clean and each has a hammock on the balcony that looks out over the valley. It is very quite and we slept like logs. The rooms have a TV, but not speaking Portugese, it stayed off the whole time we were there.

Marli cooked a great dinner each night, and breakfast and lunch were also very good. Local organic ingredients are used where possible.
