Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and myself were attending a wedding in Donegal and were looking for a hotel to stay the night to break up the drive from Belfast. We booked Mahon’s hotel last minute and didn’t know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised!! We received a very warm welcome on arrival and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. The twin room was very clean and comfortable with one of the biggest beds I’ve even seen, perfect for our overnight stay. We had dinner in the bar and it was outstanding the portions were big and it was proper home cooked food. The breakfast the next more had a buffet style continental and a menu to order your hot breakfast. Again the food at breakfast was fantastic quality, delicious and piping hot just what you need to set you up for the day. We learned during our stay that this hotel is dog friendly so without a doubt we will be back hopefully in June for my partner’s birthday. I highly recommend you give Mahon’s hotel a try if your in the area.

We rang ahead one random Friday evening to ask if it was OK to bring our labrador with us to have a bite to eat. A lady called Aisling didn't hesitate and assured us it would be OK. We ate a beautiful meal...followed by a bowl of water for the dog...it was an absolute delight. Thank you to the friendly, hospitable staff for our lovely evening! We are already looking forward to coming back! BTW Food was fantastic!!!!

Just a note to say a heartfelt thank you to Joe and his team for looking after us so well on the occasion of our parents' Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration last weekend. From Joyce and Catherine's close attention to detail with our booking from the onset to the high quality table service on the night, our party was very well looked after. The food was delicious - Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Thanks Joe too for all of the photos you took and printed out for us. Another night of lovely memories made in Mahon's Hotel, thank you.

I have to say I had the most amazing evening in one of my favourite Restaurants. I always knew their food was great but this was hospitality at its best. The evening meal was the best Roast meat I've had. My husband had a beautiful Salmon dish & the portions were very generous. Staff were amazing, very attentive & polite. And to top it all, they couldnt do enough to help when I discovered I had a flat tyre & went above & beyond to sort it out. I really appreciate their kindness.

This was the first time I'd stayed at Mahon's Hotel. I usually stay closer to Enniskillen, though Mahon's proved to be excellent value, and Irvinestown is merely 15 minutes' drive on the A32 from Enniskillen. I stayed for three nights bed & breakfast, and had three dinners. There's plenty of car-parking at the side and rear of the hotel, where there's access to Reception. Although I was on my own, the room they gave me was a well-appointed family room, with king-size bed and a single bed, tea/coffee with a kettle, shower gel in the bathroom, which had a bath an strong shower, abundant towels, soap, hot water etc. I also used the free guest wifi, and television/radio. There are lots of electric plugs for chargers. Breakfast was served from 8-10am, and the helpings were what I call Farmers' Portions! The cooked breakfast comprised two sausages, two rashers of thick bacon, an egg, mushrooms, baked beans, black pudding, potato bread, toast, butter, marmalade and jam; and fruit juice, with tea or coffee. The dinner menu is varied, and there's something for everyone. On my first evening I had the stuffed turkey dinner, which was very good. Another evening I had smoked salmon and prawn salad with home-made wheaten bread. Starters in Mahon's are more generous than some main courses! I throughly enjoyed all of my meals. The staff are all helpful and attentive. This is family-run hotel. I fully expect to make Mahon's regular fixture in future.

Amazing food, warm welcome. Such a very helpful receptionist when i needed accomodation in hurry for funeral. Thanks to lovely man who wrote out directions to avoid peak traffic. Dinner was so good as was breakfast, set u up for day. Only downside is the traffic noise at night when in front room. Don't know if noise reducing windows available and at what cost. As someone said such soft pillows. Warm welcome, comfy beds, great food
