I read some of the complaints about the Glenferrie and wondered if they were referring to another Glenferrie. I’ve got nothing but praise for the Glenferrie at Kirribilli which is why I keep going back. Where else for the price can you stay so close to the harbour and public transport in such a charming and quiet neighbourhood? Well, OK,... More

I have stayed here for business at times for years now. I like the walk from Milsons Point station and its surroundings. The value is unbeatable, really. Shared bathrooms are always clean enough and the breakfast is substantial although it would be nice to see healthier options and less processed foods. Unfortunately it is a bit noisy because of the... More

Sydney hotels are incredibly pricey and since I was traveling solo, I thought I would check out Glenferrie Lodge. The reviews I read were good, so I went ahead and booked. The place is okay. It's easy to get to, especially with the Kirribilli ferry just a short walk away. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely and I felt very... More

Even free wifi occasionally has problems, and that's what happened when you were here. Would have been worse if, like most places, you were paying $10 a day... Glenferrie is a big property, and when a booster breaks down the way one did in February, it can take a few days to locate and fix. Thank you for your feedback... More

Very pleasant helpful staff member in the evening of 16/03/13 and very rude man at reception morning of 17/03/13. Whilst I was there, one of the bathrooms was locked for the 3 days I was there for maintenance, but the was no signage to indicate this. So, I was wasting my time waiting for people to come out of the bathroom,... Your feedback will go straight to the staff member who was too busy to be friendly to you. I'm shocked because that's absolutely not what we are known for. I also apologise to you for the bathroom debacle: that bathroom was out of order for weeks while the floor drains were repaired, and I'm very sorry to hear the sign... More

Located just a few minutes from the ferry that takes you to the Circular Quay where you can get to the Opera House, the Harbor Bridge and transportation anywhere. Room was adequate., clean and comfy. We share bathroom, but that was no problem. We had a TV and free WIFI service. Very friendly. Old building and nice gardens

Once again, a ringing endorsement from an overseas visitor. That's what we like to hear, because it makes all the hard work worthwhile. What we find is some of our guests look at price only so they miss the fact that we are a real B and B where bathrooms are shared, so they are disappointed when they arrive and... More

We arrived after hours - nearly midnight - but a key was left out for us and we where able to check in the next morning which was awesome. No hassles. Brekkie was complimentary each morning and was GREAT and plentiful. Room was in average condition - i had peeling paint and cracks in the roof above my bed but... More

I'm so sorry you were with us when the electricity supply in the street went off and we lost our hot water supply for 36 hours. Some of our guests told us they were glad it was the height of summer (30 degrees ++) and they could stand to have cold showers... We value guest feedback and you've pointed out... More

A very clean and welcoming place to stay. The owners go out of there way to make you feel welcomed. The ferry terminal is a few mins walk away to take you to the Opera house or the Sydney Habor bridge. A shared bathroom but that was not problem. Free wifi and a lovely cooked breakfast. You could walk across... More

You really chose an unusually hot few days to visit Sydney, so I'll bet you were glad you had the breezes from the harbour at night. We've found the breeze isn't enough on the top floor so our hottest rooms are now air conditioned. Ask for one next time you come, and thank you for your review. it's so good... More

This was a great place to stay, there were beautiful views of the harbour just a 5 min walk away, from the lodge to the city was about 30 min walk over the Sydney harbour bridge but take your walking shoes! I won't even try to explain this: it's gone to the desk staff with a note to say "We don't only greet people on arrival, we thank them for coming when they leave and say we hope they come again!!!!" This is most unusual, and I will ensure the staff - who are normally praised for their kindness and courtesy... More

We had a very nice stay here. The hotel was very clean, staff very friendly. The hotel is in a good location, near to the ferry terminal to take you into Sydney. There was a very good choice for breakfast, and the food was good. There are no bathrooms in your room, communal bathrooms. Maybe worth thinking about making some... More

Thanks for your feedback. So pleased you had a good time in Sydney and enjoyed Glenferrie. You are right, of course. Shared bathrooms aren't for everyone, and we know that. We only took over the running of the hotel one year ago, and there's been plenty to do without even thinking of rebuilding and putting in ensuites, although it's on... More

On arrival, we were greeted with an apology notice under the door. 'Sorry for the inconvenience - our hot water system has collapsed. We are trying to obtain a plumber / technician. I've once again written directly to this reviewer to explain in detail and to apologise. Our electricity failed, not once but twice, in 36 hours and we had to bring in generators to keep the hotel open!
