Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Superb dog friendly plant based food hotel with the most helpful staff ever. Best plant based food I have ever tasted apart from that prepared by my wife but she deserved a well earned weeks break. Drinks have been well researched and are totally vegan friendly. Particularly recommend the Beck Hall Blonde bitter. It is so good to talk to bar staff who know their subject. Great choice of food and drink at affordable prices. All staff are multi role and good inter staff communication is spot on. We have booked same time next year to get away from the madness of the Cheltenham Festival (horse killing). Tables for breakfast and dinner can be reserved for compatibility with over active dogs - a must for one of ours! We will be booking a superior room next year for a little more space and seating accommodation in our room. Great dog walks straight from the door A+++ but take your waterproofs!

We booked to visit specifically on hearing that Beck Hall now offers a solely plant based menu. We stayed for two nights, ate in the restaurant both evenings. We had high hopes which were not disappointed. The reception is warm, informal and we felt welcome. Our room, in the historic part of the building, was Blue Room. It was beautiful, wonderful carvings and dual aspect onto the stream and garden. It was peaceful to sit by the window listening to the water. The heating is adjustable, which was good. The menu provides plenty of choice. We particularly enjoyed the Lebanese Caprese with whipped tahini, seitan ballotine, banana blossom with chips and Pomegranate and Rose “mess”. We enjoyed the vegan real ale and wine. The restaurant was busy, but efficient service and a lovely environment with fantastic views through glass walls. Breakfast was good, pancakes with fruit and smashed avocado with carrot lox on bagel were both excellent. We enjoyed walking locally, Malham Cove is just up the road. Perhaps another visit in warmer weather when it’s not so wet… This is a great hotel with ambition and a brilliant staff team. We hope to return!

We had the best stay at Beckhall, we visited with our two lurchers and it was the most dog-friendly place I've ever been! Plenty of space, relaxed vibes, you can tell the owners really care. Lots of walks on the doorstep and a lovely open fire to dry off in front of. We will definitely be back!

Our visit was fantastic. A 60th birthday treat for my husband, the food was brilliant such a fabulous menu, every meal beautifully presented and satisfying to eat. Each member of staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. An outstanding venue for our Border Terrier puppy’s first holiday, we were very worried he’d eat the furniture (or another guest), the relaxed calm atmosphere, lovely staff and other guests staying there helped our young dog settle. Thanks very much Team Beck Hall for all the hard work it must take to provide such great service.

It was fantastic to have the whole menu to choose from and the food was absolutely delicious with plenty of high protein vegan dishes. We loved our three night stay, had a very special time and would definitely recommend this lovely place for a quiet break.

My daughter and I have been dying to try this restaurant and it did not disappoint.. The menu is varied and interesting - we were a bit spoilt for choice. My daughter had the banana blossom and chips while I opted for the dahl served in a bread bowl. We couldn't fault either dish. We shared a pomegranate Eton mess for dessert which was divine. Gorgeous food, super friendly service and a perfect setting. Cannot wait to return

Just returned from an absolutely fantastic trip to Beck Hall, Malham. I was really looking forward to it but even so, my expectations were exceeded. Malham is a great place to stay, ideal for local walks and I could not fault Beck Hall. The whole place has a feel good factor. The building is beautiful, our room overlooked the crystal clear river and the wood fires in the restaurant & the snug were lovely. The highlight however, has to be the food: 5 star in every way. A varied menu of the highest quality. Our experience could not have been improved upon, well maybe a little less cloud in the skies, but that's all. We cannot wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish! I have never felt so welcome, all the staff couldn’t do enough for you absolutely 5 star service! The food was beautiful, a bit sceptical at first being a meat eater, every dish we had was delicious! The cocktails were amazing, good selection of drinks. The rooms were lovely, the bed was really comfy! We had our nervous dog with us and every single staff member made effort to make sure she felt safe, as soon as we sat down anywhere a dog bed and treats were there straight away, honestly couldn’t have had a better experience! Thank you for a lovely stay Beck Hall, we will be back!

The hotel is now 100% plant based, and although we’re not vegan ourselves, we had really lovely food with great flavours. I know there are lots of opinions on them going plant based, but honestly the choice of food is still there and it didn’t bother us at all. The staff were great as always, special shout out to Mabel for helping us book initially! As always we had an amazing time with three dogs in tow, and we’ll be back :)

Came hear for mothers day afternoon tea, fantastic scenery, silent and tranquil. The food was fantastic, fresh and tasted very nourishing. All the staff were very polite and friendly and went above and beyond. Please bare in mind parking is limited in the local village, the restaurant only provides parking for its overnight guests. We will definitely return again and try the roast dinner (vegan). Thank you for a lovely visit.
