Let's see, this place is terrible it shouldn't even be open for people to stay in!!!!! Yes the view is nice but the inside is terrible, rooms looked like something out of the 70s - broken furniture, the bed was so hard there was no way anyone could sleep on it. The bathroom was tiny, the bath was dirty and... more

I booked this hotel because of its location (overlooking the harbour), its 3-star status and the fact that it had a family room and a double room available at reasonable prices. When we arrived, I thought it looked a bit tatty from the outside but that could be explained by the harsh weather in the winter but my gut feeling... more

On arrival the harbour-front hotel looks like it was built for 1970's Blackpool and left to deteriorate from there. Downstairs is a bar used by all the local yobs (The Whitehill Massive as they like to be called) who party 7 days a week by smashing bottles in the street, urinating on the pavement and road outside the hotel, shouting,... more

Mmm - couldn't get into our usual hotel at Banff and found this instead - what a mistake! Residents lounge used as restaurant so f you wanted a drink you were told to use bar, which was basically a youth club - loud, no seats, a pool table and I'd loved to have seen the proof of age of some... more

Stayed here three nights while on a coach tour. The staff appeared to have little or no training and there were multiple problems. The second day one of the individuals in our group locked the key in their room (they use standard keys, no key cards) and the staff could not find another. Ultimately they were forced to remove the... more

The Highland Haven Hotel is directly on the sea front. The views from the indian restaurant/breakfast room are gorgeous of the sea and harbour. We paid £39 for a double room which was extremely good value for money. Of course for that price it is outdated and it really is cold in the winter (it was v windy when we... more

Very bad experience... When we arrived there was no note of our booking, we made reservation two weeks before over the phone giving full C/C details (including security number). Loud locals in the bar, should have been ask to leave (not good as first impression) Room was tiny, dated, cheaply done and cold, we had to sleep with our clothes... more
