This hotel was a massive dissapointment. there is an arrogance which seems to let them think they need to make no effort whatsoever. The room was very tired, no headboard just a couple of cushions and much smaller than the photo suggested. Breakfast was a joke on Sunday morning, we waited 25 minutes for a cup of tea and you... We spent an enjoyable Saturday night at the Olde Bell. The location is fantastic, less than 5 minutes walk from the Thames in a pretty village. Our room, in the Brick Barn (opposite the main building) was large if a bit sparsely furnished. It was comfortable but although free WiFi was advertised, there was no WiFi signal. We ate in the... Met for a business meeting today at The Olde Bell. Sat in the bar area which was, sadly, rather grubby. Tables were not wiped properly and my chair appeared to have animal hairs on. No staff took our order so had to order at the bar. When it did arrive coffee was luke warm and milk had some things floating... More

The Olde Bell is a pretty hotel, with a suite of buildings that evoke the old English atmosphere nicely. I most recall the lovely gardens, quiet overall environment, nice walks and decent food. The pub is traditional and a little uninspired but comfortable enough, and the breakfasts, room service and restaurant food are all decent if a little over-priced. The... More

We went to the Olde Bell for two nights, one night as part of a wedding party and one as an extra, to recover. Initially I wasn't particularly struck, the wedding barn is in what looks like a car park and flanked by accommodation barns; the main hotel, the old coaching house and the add on Victorian building and their... I cannot fault this hotel. The staff were wonderful and extremely efficient and absolutely made our weekend stay. Despite having a wedding to deal with, our needs were met 100% and without us feeling we were asking to much. The rooms were beautifully done, and we really enjoyed the luxurious touches. The food was excellent, and breakfast fit for a... More

Our friends were getting married at the Olde Bell so we decided to spend the night. We booked over two months in advance and specified our allergy to feathers. Hotel is located in lovely countryside village, with very rural atmosphere. Check-in was chaotic: we were given the wrong keys (hotel is spread over several buildings) so we had to wait... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary a few years ago, and when we fancied a weekend break recently we remembered it was such a great place it was worth revisiting. I will caveat my mini review with the fact that staying anywhere for the second time you can't help but notice the smaller things - but even so this... More

The main inn building is purported to have been built in 1138 and the charm is there if for some of the modern upgrades are showing a little wear. The food in the restaurant is very good, great even but the service can be haphazard and a bit standoffish. Request a room in the main inn or the attached Malt... More
