Stayed here for my cousins wedding in April, lovely room with en-suite, fantastic views over the countyside, shame it rained non-stop. Did have a drink in the bar beforehand, quite expensive but it was only the one before we left. Lovely comfortable bed and great bathroom, breakfast was excellent.

Lovely like a little bit of France in Henley. The management need work on nothing other than attracting rude reviews from imbeciles from "der big city". Really enjoyed it will be back.

I thoroughly agree with Stephen B. The management really need to work on their customer service! What could have been a pleasant lunch - the food was nicely cooked and good quality, the wine was OK - was completely ruined by a service that was by turns slow (the young girl serving), then impatient and rude (the older woman who... Cantankerous owner who clearly wished he was elsewhere, masks a pleasant pub that could be so much more.

We were ushered in by a lovely gentleman and thought that we were going to have a lovely lunch here. However on finding that I had no vegetarian main course options, I asked for help from the waitress. At this point a woman (thought to be a co-owner) interrupted and suggested French onion soup. This is often made with chicken... More

We did not stay, but stopped for lunch. The manager/landlord or however was rude demeaning and arrogant. It was like he was doing us a great favour by allowing us to lunch at his pub. The food was ok, but certainly not the best I have had. I would certainly not recommend it, and no way would I visit there... More

Having read the rather mixed reviews of Black Boys Inn we were apprehensive about our weekend here. However, on the day of our arrival we received a courtesy call giving us some information about checking-in and where our keys could be found if we arrived during their busy dinner-time. The room and bathroom were very pleasant and clean, and the... More

Stayed one night but comfy, good decor, great location for Henley Festival or Regatta. Didnt have chance to try the restaurant but i hear its very good with a french flavour - esp. the pressed duck.

The Black Boys is a favourite with us - we have been to other places as well but the character of BB is special. In part it is the setting, and there is nothing better than sitting on the lawn looking over the Thames Valley on a warm sunny day, in part it is the food, and in part the... More

On a day out in May with our family we decided to stop at this Inn for Sunday Lunch. We had no prior knowledge of the place, i.e whether it was 'child friendly' or not. We were a group of four adults and two small children, one a 8 month old. After being seated, and realising that there were no... More
