Our family stayed here for a nearby gathering in Canonbie - some in the house and some in the self-catering cottages. All were agreed that the facilites and attention to detail were very impressive. We would definitely recommend Byreburnfoot for its beautiful quiet surroundings and excellent accommodation.

I've stayed in many B&Bs and this one ranks among the top two or three. A beautiful, comfortable and immaculately clean house in a loverly setting. But the icing on the cake are your hosts. Bill and Lorraine are two of the friendliest, most pleasant people you could meet. happy to chat with you but without being intrusive. Bill's cakes... More

In 60 years of staying at a wide selection of B&Bs, chambres d'hote and small country hotels mainly in France and the UK, Byreburnfoot must sit right at the top of the list! The welcome from Bill & Loraine, their continuing friendly attention and hospitality, the accommodation with every comfort and smallest detail so carefully provided for, the delicious food... More

First class accommodation, great location, friendly hospitality and brilliant hearty food made from local produce. Bill and Lorraine were wonderfully welcoming, making our anniversary break very special. Dinner and breakfast were really enjoyable, especially the home baked bread and smoked salmon caught on the river near the house, we even saw a picture of the catch. Beautiful room and enjoyed... An awesome b & b with lovely owners. The food was second to none along with the friendly hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. Bill is the most amazing cook. You will not be disappointed.

Returning to the Byreburnfoot House for the second time we found the establishment had lost none of the charm and quality which prompted us to return during a fishing trip on the river Esk. The attention to detail in the bedrooms, the stunning location and the superb food prepared with style and flair by our host reinforced our view that... More

Me and my family invaded the entire Byreburnfoot site for my wedding last weekend, the groom stayed in the B&B with the best man and groomsman, and myself (the bride!) stayed with my parents and bridesmaid over in the self catering cottage at the other end of the site. The surroundings are breathtaking, and the location was surprisingly easy to... More

We stayed here in February and Bill and Lorraine treated us superbly again, Bill's cooking and home made bread are as delicious as ever and the welcome was warmer than the living room fire. I cant wait to return and I'm already booked in for later in the year, whether you are with friends, traveling alone or as a couple... More

My partner and I stayed at this delightful guest house. We were looking for a couple of relaxing days away and got just that. We were greeted by Lorraine and Bill with a lovely tray of tea and home baking. During our stay, we were made to feel more than welcome and were treated like one of the family. We... More

Very friendly & outgoing hosts in a gorgeous setting beside the Esk River. We were given a cuppa on arrival & a tour of the extended property including a viewing of the progress of the new self-catering facilities in the old stables (stylish). Very comfortable b&b appointments with views over the lawns & gardens. Some pleasant walks in the area.... More
