My wife ordered the gigot of lamb - it came very rare and we requested that it be further cooked to remove the blood- it came back still bleeding and inedible - when we mentioned this again we were told that this is how it was served there + total absence of listening to what the customer wanted - very... Took my ( child of the 30's) mother here when I was last up as it was as local for her as you get when you live in the middle of know where. We by total chance picked a Sunday and were lucky enough to discover the Carvery and naturally a food course either side ! The staff were so... More

Set about three miles from Galloway Activity Centre and backs onto Loch Ken. Owners very friendly if a little quiet. Rooms vary (a group of us stayed) but all are nicely styled like you'd expect a country hotel to be. Modern bathrooms but some are very small. Breakfast was lovely. All very tasty, fresh produce. Really nice sausages, haggis and... More

Although we have only enjoyed meals here we are quite discerning people and feel that this hotel offers some of the best food for its price anywhere .Also the staff are very friendly and no request is too much trouble. We hope to make many more visits whenever possible

I've stayed here a few times and the hotel is my first choice when I am on business in the area. The rooms are fairly basic, but are clean, tidy and well maintained. The restaurant is excellent and has a wide variety of food on offer, and an intersting specials board. The bar is next door to the restaurant and... More

I have stopped here a few times over the past five years so it's about time I provided my review! I think this is a great little place, it's simple but it's welcoming and offers a great place to relax. You check in at the bar, which I love, puts you in just the right mood and encourages a chat... I have stayed here a few times now. The hospitality provided by the owners and staff is fantastic at this country hotel. The food in the restaurant is great. The rooms are clean, but fairly basic and some could do with being completely revamped. It hasn't put me off returning though. The location is great for hill walking, mountain biking... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad that you enjoy staying with us. We are getting lots of compliments for our hospitality, food, bar and accommodation, etc. We are dissappointed that you feel that the bedrooms are a bit basic. The bedrooms have been designed to be clean, fresh and in keeping with the original coaching inn style of... More

We passed the Ken Bridge Hotel in 2008 and remembered the lovely looks and lay-out by the river. This time we stopped to stay for a night on our way west. As we were recieved so kindly, we decided to stay for 2 nights and enjoy the surroundings of New Galloway a bit. Yes, we'll be back and stay a... More

Had a three night stay at this hotel and it was just a delight. The owners and all the staff we met could not have been nicer and provided excellent service. The location of the hotel is simply idyllic with the bridge and Ken Water right on the doorstep. We were very lucky with weather which made the beer garden... More
