We stayed for just one night as we were in the area for a wedding. We had booked a night at the Holiday Inn at Stansted and then changed our minds and were so glad that we did. Kit was most welcoming and it was good to have a quick tour of The Yew Tree, I wish we didn't live... More

This is a quiet, upmarket village location. The Yew Tree is a converted and renovated pub with cabin-style hotel rooms finished to a high standard, very comfortable and modern. The restaurant serves excellent food, the service is great, the breakfast could use a few more healthy options (fruit, muesli, yoghurt) but we enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Friendly... More

Very stylish great look to the whole building. Great location in a small village, Room amazing - but (very tiny buts ) room smelt a little sicky. No bin, shower needs a door as floor gets very wet due to the rain fall shower.... Staff amazing breakfast amazing over all experience top notch...

We stayed early in April - two couples and a young baby and loved it. The village is very pretty and the owners have done a fab job of completely renovating what was obviously a run down old pub. It's modern but with lovely old parts restored tastefully, clean and well laid out. Restaurant food was excellent (chilli beef a... More

We were looking forward to our Mothering Sunday lunch (party of 8) only to find the proprietor had failed to book us in. This was despite him recalling both the telephone call making the booking and the fact he had actually phoned back to confirm. Whilst apologies were tendered there was no effort to try and rectify the situation other... More

Although our room was available from 2.00pm we didn't arrive at the Yew Tree until 4.00. Despite a temperature of -6 deg and 3 ins of ice-packed snow on the ground, the heating in our room wasn't turned on until we got there. We were in one of the motel-style rooms outside of the main building with a gap round... More

my colleague and I stayed here while working. Accommodation nice and comfortable . Owner friendly and food very good. will stay again. only possible downside is that some rooms are 'motel' style which may not appeal to lone women. We enjoyed it though and would use again.

The Yew Tree has been refurbished extensively and we were delighted with our room which was chic and modern. The double bed was capacious with crisp white sheets and duvet also sparkling white bath towels and an excellent shower. Just surprised no hair dryer was installed. We didn't dine there but our breakfast was a real treat. All tastes were... More
