For once this hotel completely undersells itself. Think 15th century village on a river, not two buildings either side of a road. Think 5 star luxury country living, not dog friendly hotel (which it is, not that you'd notice). Think fine dining, not gastro-pub themed. First impressions as you drive up are Wow! and Wow! A fantastic little retreat set in the perfect riverside location. A charming hotel set amongst chocolate box scenery. The staff were very attentitive and the food in the restaurant/pub was excellent. I had a great 40th birthday here and will definitely be returning. 10/10
