We had a fantastic nights' stay. We arrived by bike and were welcomed by Scott at the door. Having cycled over forty miles to reach the hotel, we had worked up a good appetite. We were served three courses of lovely food. The views are terrific and it is a very restful place to stay. We liked the small touches,... More

Hi Tim F, Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. The jigsaw has been completed so we have started a new double sided puzzle. Steph's homemade shortbread and oatmeal biscuits are proving so popular that Steph is constantly busy making more. There really is no better way to gear up for a days cycling than a piping... More

I would just like to thank you Scott and Steph for the fabulous couple of nights I stayed at Rannoch Moor. I mainly went to travel on the West Highland Railway Line but the Hotel was just as spectacular, great accommodation, food, relaxed welcoming atmosphere, and the view of the mountains at breakfast time was priceless, wish I could have... Hi jmsholmes (Mike), We are glad that you enjoyed your time with us at the moor and that you were able to sample the amazing views available from our restaurant. The West Highland Railway Line is one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world and a trip across Glenfinnan (Harry Potter) Viaduct is a great way to spend... More

Let me state at the outset that I am reviewing this place as a restaurant / pub rather than a hotel as I did not stay here. We had dinner here after the amazing walk from Corrour to Rannoch. I can't even begin to tell you what a relief it was to see this place after the walk! We had... More

Hi chaitdesh, The walk from Corrour to Rannoch certainly is amazing especially if you are lucky enough to enjoy the weather that you experienced. Taking the train from Rannoch to Corrour and walking back (or walking there and train back) is a great way to spend a day and enjoy the Moor. I am glad that you enjoyed the food... More

After a week of walking in the Highlands we stopped off here for two nights. Very comfortable, spacious room, easy atmosphere, superb setting, quality food. Steph made us the finest packed lunch ever. Thanks again to her and to Scott.

Well we haven't been on our holiday yet but if the service Scott offers at the hotel is anything like the way he helps out with making reservations and offering tourist information, it will be a wonderful experience. Friendly, courteous, and very efficient. Well done Scott - you seem to understand what customer service is all about. We're looking forward... More

Hi John5947, I don’t think I have ever seen a positive Tripadvisor comment from a hotel guest that has not yet arrived! So thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We realise that we are in a very very remote area of Scotland and that it may be challenging for guests to identify and arrange activities &... More

This hotel is next to the West Highland railway, which we used to go from Rannoch to Mallaig for a day trip. On return to Rannoch at 1830 we stopped at the hotel for an evening meal before driving back home - we live about 2 hours drive away. What a find! a delicious meal, a warm welcome, the most... More

Hi Ladylondon80, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad you found us and that you enjoyed your evening meal. We do open to non-residents for dinner but as we cook all of our meals from fresh ingredients booking is essential to avoid disappointment. As you say a trip on The West Highland Line is... More

Stayed here on 13th May ... first night of a Highlands and Islands trip. Received a fantastic welcome, excellent food and even the wildlife turned up on cue! Rooms are light and airy with amazing views. If you like peace, quiet, and the great outdoors, this place is a must.

Hi Helene1000, Rannoch Moor certainly is a quiet place so I am glad the deer turned up during dinner to give us all a show. I hope you had a great time on the rest of your trip around Scotland and look forward to seeing you again if you return to the moor. Scott & Steph More

From the moment that we walked through the door to be greeted by a pot of tea and a roaring fire, we could not have asked for more! Scot and Steph made use feel like family - not guests. Hi Nick A, Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and I hope you all enjoyed your rather long cycle tour of Scotland. So great to get off the night sleeper to walk into a total welcome by name and a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast.
