When i first arrived I expected it to be great. I went to the bar but I was gretted by the drunken heckles of alcoholics and im sure some of them were underage. The food was very undercooked so we ended up having to go to the spar next door for some food. We didnt sleep as there was a... More

Joined up with friends on New Year's Eve & booked a room so we could have a drink. Knew we would receive a warm welcome & were not disappointed. Bar was packed (as expected) by 8pm but still found a seat beside a lovely log fire. Refreshments (free) arrived by 10pm & a very merry time was had by all.... More

Hotel needs updating, rooms are clean and acceptable for a couple of nights, there's some dodgy smells around the place but the one thing that you need to visit this place for is the 5 star food! Frankly unbelievable! Offsets the iffy rooms! Service is excellent by the overworked lass behind the bar.

Been back for the second time as I enjoyed my first visit and I must say the place has improved. I have read another critical review but I must stress that this differed greatly from my experience. The manager and staff were very welcoming and I thought the standard of food was excellent for the money. Stayed after for a... More

Have been back a few times but after seeing mena55 s review I had to review the bridge hotel again . I find it difficult to believe she has been to the same hotel as me . The hotel was in full swing but I still found the food excellent and the service was more than quick enough. Had a... More

We had visited The Bridge Hotel in March/April for food and both the food and the service were excellent. The surroundings were lovely and the bar and restaurant area spotlessly clean, warm and inviting. We looked forward to returning in July to eat there again as the hotel is central and not too far from where we stay. The hotel... More

After stopping in the Bridge Hotel for a spot of lunch, I discovered the magnificent whiskey collection displayed in the bar area, many drams later and the welcoming hospitality of the locals led me to stay there the night. Fast Wi-Fi was available in all public areas and rooms too which is a great benefit compared to many other places... More

Booked in advance to ensure B&B for overnight on long distance cycling trip. On arrival, we were told that there would be no breakfast available next morning and advised to buy provisions from shop next door. To be fair to the hotel, I had not specifically booked breakfasts when making the room booking but you do tend to assume that... More

I couldn't disagree more with jeddly's review! I had a meal in the restaurant on Saturday evening, the food was exceptional & very reasonably priced, the staff, including the manager were very welcoming & helpfull & the decor is very nice indeed, the open coal fire being a great focal point. As I had some time to wait for my... More
